Trattoria Express — Restaurant in Lincoln

Very unfortunate event. Have been to this restaurant many times and enjoyed. Dined with friends this evening. Had a lovely meal and and wonderful waitress. My friend and I went to use the ladies room after dinner, we had been there for about 3 hours, enjoying the meal and catching up. However, when we went to the ladies room, it was covered in blood. I did not immediately notice but when I did I realized there was blood everywhere, smeared on the table, sink, toilet and all over the handle of the toilet. The restroom was open and no sign saying it was not in use. We left and went to the men’s room to attempt to wash my hands.We passed the managers office who asked what we were doing we told her. She became immediately hostile, told us there was a woman who left in an ambulance and that they had told the patrons seated outside they could use the bathroom next door. We were seated inside and there was nothing to let us know the bathroom should not have been in use. This “manager” became argumentative and told us again a lady had been taken out in an ambulance. We had been there for 3 hours so it had to have happened before we arrived. The bathroom was just left like this, covered in blood AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. The “manager” was beyond rude when we informed her and offered nothing except the explanation that a lady had been taken out in an ambulance and the patrons seated outside were told they could use the restrooms next door. This is a health hazard. On top of being treated like you would NEVER wish to be treated by a manager in a restaurant for using a restroom that you had no idea was contaminated. I will be reporting the restaurant to the board of health and unfortunately never revisiting. I would steer clear of this restaurant. It is clear they are not concerned with cleanliness and have no regard for their customers. I was excited to come in today as I’m visiting and staying at a hotel nearby, I stopped in for lunch and a drink. I sat at the bar asked for my ID then questioned if it was valid or not, it expires in 2029 and I’m 31…she said it looked fake because “the numbers were big” I said she could scan it but she said they don’t have a scanner and asked for another form of ID I said I don’t have one who would have two forms of ID? She said I didn’t need an attitude though I was talking and asking a question, she asks for something with my name on it then lets me finally order a drink and I say I want to have lunch. While I think she’s making my drink I go to the bathroom and come out, there’s no one at the bar, she’s doing nothing and my drinks not made. She asks me if I want to order….i said I did a drink and I never got it but was asking if I wanted food. She asks again what I want…I said obviously you don’t want me here I have no idea what’s going on then go to the station to ask for a manager she comes over to harass me again asking what’s my problem and snarking laughing at me. I was just there to have a drink and lunch. Never would have thought the bartender would be so miserable and mean, made me extremely uncomfortable and ruined my day. We ordered take out. The staff was helpful and attentive as we perused the case. The lasagna we ordered was HUGE. It was mostly meat oddly enough. Definitely needed cheese, it was dry. Adding their sauce helped, and they gave me a lot on the side. I've just never had lasagna that had no cheese except the bit on top. The ricotta cheesecake was inedible. It tasted old. The outside of it developed a skin. So we peeled the skin off figuring the inside would be creamy. No. The whole thing was like rubber. It was awful. I was SO disappointed. I don't know if it was just old, had sat there for weeks? We truly could not eat it. The banana coconut cake was soft and fresh. It was ok. Not bad, but a little bland and needed more frosting inside. But you could taste a definite difference that it was fresher. The cost there is quite high. $25 for a single piece of lasagna. I have no problem paying for quality but this was not Maybe because it was taken out? I'd like to maybe try eating in. But I'm not sure that would effect the desserts as it came out of same case.
