I had the most ridiculous experience at this store on May 15th 2018 around 7:00pm-7:30pm in cashier #8.
This was my first time shopping at Lidl, I drove 30 mins to this location just to see if the prices were as good as they say they were.
I was with my 2 year old baby boy, and while shopping he got fussy like all babies do... I had 2 value packs of raisins that come with about 6 little boxes of raisins within. I opened one pack up and gave him 2 little boxes from that pack to keep him distracted so I could get my shopping done. I felt this was completely fine because I was going to make a purchase on them anyway. As a mom you have to do what you got to do to get the job done.
When it was time to check out , I explained to the lady at the cash register that I had opened it and my reason for doing so. Her response was that she was going to scan each little box individually. So my total came to $11.67 for raisins! I told her that she was incorrect and that it was 97 cents for each value pack. Not 97 for each individual box but she started arguing with me, telling me I was wrong and then finally asking “do you want me to call me manager?” I responded “yes please do”
Once the manager came by, the lady at the cash register continued to try to prove me wrong. Asking him “right we charged these individually?” I then asked “no sir, tell me how much this value pack is?” And i picked up the pack that was unopened. He scanned it and the screen said “raisins .97 cents” I told him “see it’s .97 cents per pack, you just scanned it and it shows!” He still didn’t believe me and went to the aisle to look at the price He then comes back and says “I see where the confusion is , it’s .97 per ounce and there’s this many ounces in one individual box.” I then stopped the argument there. I could see that they were still trying to over charge me for raisins when I could go to Walmart and get a value pack for a dollar. I was so upset and frustrated that I didn’t want to spend my money at this store. I let the manager know that I wasn’t interested in buying anything anymore, and to cancel my order. The cashier lady then responds with “you still have to pay the two boxes that you ate.” My response to her was “well then charge me for the 2 boxes my child ate because he was fussy and I was just trying to get my shopping done.” The manager finally saw my frustration and said that he was paying for them. I thanked him and left. The cashier lady was disrespectful and her customer service was completely unacceptable. I have never had such a terrible experience at grocery store. I went to Walmart that night and purchased my son’s raisins at the right price with no...
Read moreWhile yes it's a great store with some decent pricing on certain items and sales all the time, especially at night... My problem is the staff. And I don't mean any staff in particular, I mean the fact that sometimes this place is so busy, there might be total of, let's say, 50 people in the store. And when most of them are ready to check out, they will ever only open 1 or (if you really wish hard enough) 2 checkout lanes. It's dumb really.
Of course I'd never blame the cashiers. I've been there, I know what it's like to deal with people and management. And that's who I blame, management.
I spoke to one of the cashiers who happened to be a manager and they told me that, even though they have been open for a while now, that they are still new as a store and still hiring.....
Really?... That's interesting...
Because not only I myself have applied to work there, I know at least 5-6 people who have many years in retail experience, a couple with years of grocery experience, who all have great work ethics who have all tried applying there and have all been denied.
Apparently these people have such a "high standard" in terms of hiring and that's why they never have anyone to help and check out customers.
Please, while the items inside may be different, the outside is still just a grocery store. And not even a full one at that. Most decent grocery stores such as my personal favorites, WEGMAN'S & WHOLE FOODS, while yes a bit more expensive, have a much better variety of items and choices. They have full delis, fresh meat/fish sections, and more.
I know I'm just sounding salty and whatnot, but seriously, anyone else feel like that wait a day and a half when they go through the (singular)...
Read moreI am a regular shopper at Lidl and I normally love going into the store. Today(4/5/2021), however was the worst experience I have ever had. I do not wear a mask going into any store and I have never felt so harassed. I walked into the store, an employee made a B-line for me and immediately, very rudely, told me I needed to wear a mask. I had politely said that I am unable to wear one and thanked him for the concern. He then spat back at me and demanded I gave him my medical record stating so. I had told him he cannot ask me for such information and he had walked off. I had continued my shopping with my 3 year old daughter. 5 minutes later, the store manager approached me and had told me I needed to wear a mask. I had informed him that one of his employees asked for my medical records and the store manager had completely ignored that. He had then told me he would call the police, I told him he is more than welcome to! He had then walked off, came back with a piece of paper and said he needed MY personal information! I am very unhappy with this. My medical records are private information and being harassed stating that I need to give information about myself and my medical history is completely unacceptable!
30 minutes later a relative of mine walked in, wasn’t wearing a mask and the same people looked at him and said “you have a good day sir!!!”
