Update: Returned to “Tony’s” which is now Vinny’s. Everything looked the same with exception to the name change. Ordered basically the same pizza (Special- see pics) for comparison. Vinny’s special was good though we did detect a difference in the crust. The crust felt a bit dry but will try another time to see if it was an anomaly. 24 miles, that’s how far I drove for a pizza. Recommended by friends since they knew I was a pizza snob. I ordered the 16” Tony’s special (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers). Yes, driving the distance was well worth it. Don’t bother ordering your pizza with extra cheese, this pie was loaded. The crust was crispy on the outside and nice and light on the inside. Will return to try some of the pasta dishes and maybe venture over to the cannolis. There seems to be two Tony’s New York Pizza in Manassas and I went to the one in/near Bull Run Plaza. I will go to the other and compare. I ordered a comparable pizza from the other Tony’s, a 16” NY with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms but no bell peppers. It was hard to choose which was the better Tony’s, and I had to give it to the Tony’s at Bull Run because of the crust. Either one you end up at, you will be pleased.

I have eaten at their different locations for years. When I worked in Gainesville, I ate there at least once every 2 weeks. Fantastic pizza, very authentic NY style with their thin crust. lots to choose from, by the slice, the steak and cheese subs, the cheese cake, their salads... This place is a dying breed. One one the few authentic Italian neighborhood restaurants left in the DMV, the quality is always on point, and the steak and cheese subs are not something a normal person can eat with a side of fries. those 2 slices in the picture were $5.75 and I was full. bigger then they look. So this is one of my all time favorite Italian restaurants in the area and probably my favorite if you separated this into it's own category of local, family style New York or New Jersey style pizzerias. unpretentious - authentic - consistent - generous - value

Finally! A real deal NY style pizzeria. I say finally because I finally made it in here. It only took 4 years to muster up the courage to put my heart out on the line and try Tony's. I was not disappointed! My family is in the pizzeria business in NJ and CO and being from NJ originally I can name dozens of great pizzerias back home. I couldn't say the same for the Manassas area until now. The crust is a real bread like crust as crust should be. The cheese is fatty and rich. The meats and vegetables are fresh and cut perfectly proportioned for the pie. The sauce is good enough to drink out of a cup(dont tempt me). Thank you Tony's for being here and delivering. Thank you for not breaking my heart. Sincerely, A real pizza guy.

Just to be clear...this is the Tony's New York Pizza at Bull Run Plaza, Manassas. The only part that I enjoyed about the experience was the company. The seating needs to be replaced. We sat at the circular table/corner booth. The springs in the bench were sticking up in places so it was hard while other spots were so soft it felt like you would sink to the floor. The floor was dirty. Someone had come in at some point before we arrived (it was empty when we got there) with dried mud on their shoes and there were bits all over the floor and no attempt was made to clean it up. The person taking our order was rude and really did not seem interested in doing the job. As we were ordering she would answer the phone without asking us to wait even though there was another employee standing at the counter with no customers (as I mentioned, no one was there). We ordered our food, paid and she said nothing else. Since it was our first visit we were not sure how we would know our food was ready. Luckily, I saw a number on the receipt and asked if that would be called. We were going to take a seat but decided to ask if we could get our drinks while we waited for the food. She said, "ok" but then answered the phone and left us standing there. Finally, after a couple of phone calls, she asked another employee to get the cups for us so we could get our drinks. We got our drinks and took a seat. The food started to arrive, in stages. Not everything was done at the same time and while they called our number they were also filling other orders which is fine except...why not fill our order so we could all eat together? The food was nothing exceptional. We ordered fried calamari and they seemed to have been fried some time before we ordered them and then refried to get them hot. They were hard and rubbery. The salads were fine...its hard to mess those up. All the pizzas and the foccacia were overcooked on the bottom and a bit too doughy (undercooked in the middle). It seems as though the pizza oven may have been too hot so the bottom cooked too fast and to avoid it burning they removed it and served it. One of us also ordered a glass of white wine. After ordering it we were informed that it was room temperature and that if we wanted it chilled we would have to get red or use ice. It just wasn't a great...

On several occasions I have ordered a Tony's special pizza .On this particular occasion I did the same.... however I asked that it come with jalapeños substituted for the cheese.... due to an allergy... and asked for them to add broccoli.. .. this order was a pick up order..... upon my arrival the cashier said that myTony's special was with cheese and they made an additional single slice with no cheese with broccoli...... I'm on a lunch break to pick this up and eat in an alloted time frame..... so this put a wrench in that plan! They did not offer any verbal oppolgy and said they would remake it . Due to my timing issue I declined and went back to work with no lunch...... Later that evening , just off my 9 hr shift .....BEING very HUNGRY ..... CALLED AND SPOKE WITH THE OWNER.....I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND HIS RESPONSE WAS............ WHAT DO U WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT? RESTURANTS MAKE MISTAKES! SO WHAT... I'VE got BILLS TO PAY AND U AREN'T GETTING A FREE PIZZA. I will never visit or recommend people spend hard earned money and fill the pockets of such an unkind , inconsiderate and rude owner.....the owner was kras!

/kras/ adjective lacking sensitivity, refinement, or...
