Subtract 1 star from this review. Worst customer experience ever. I was looking for wireless earbuds. I found a pair I liked in a section marked $5. It was very well organized, with each brand and type on its own peg, so it was obviously in the correct location. However, the earbuds rang up as $8. First of all, why is anything at 5 Below over $5? Has basic math changed? Second of all, when I told the employee up front, he made up bs excuses like "customers move things". I walked him to the section, where he could clearly see other earbuds of the same type right under the $5 sign. He made more excuses, but finally grabbed another pair off the shelf to ring up at the right price. Except that the ones he grabbed were $5.95, not $5. When I pointed this out, he literally tried to tell me that was due to tax. VA has 6% tax, not 30%. I pointed this out too, and he acted like the price difference comes out of his own paycheck. I absolutely am never coming to this store again, and probably never to a 5 below again. There are actual honest stores with honest employees that sell the...
Read moreThis store's entire inventory is impulse buy items that range from junk food to actual junk, which wouldn't really be a problem, except they don't have the actual price they're going to charge you at checkout on their items. There are entire shelves of "starting at..." As long as one item on the shelf is the actual price they're advertising, they're not technically false advertising, but it does mean you have to guess at what you're going to be charged when you go to pay, and it may be more than what you intended or wanted to pay for junky impulse buy items. I would imagine most people going into a store like Five Below have a set amount of money set aside to spend on candy or stupids, and by not clearly advertising the actual price they're charging for items, they're either making customers unwilling to pay at checkout or annoying customers at checkout, both of which I'd imagine are bad for business. Just... put the actual price... you're going to charge for the junk......
Read moreWould give zero if I could. 2 days after Christmas and they wouldn't even exchange a $5.55 dog sweater we received ad a gift without a receipt. Didn't want money only th correct size. Employees were extremely rude. Wasn't my niece's fault she got the wrong size. It said medium on one side of tag & large on the other. She thought it was medium. Never shop at 5 below again. Will post policies on every review site I can. You have much more to lose, than the nothing it would have cost for an even exchange. No way to run a business. No customer service. Ruined Christmas for my pup & me. Now have to just give away the give she so thoughtfully...
