=5/25/2024= Better experience at this Giant during our last visit. Was able to get everything we need for a little under $300. The self-scanner that you can use to scan your grocery items as you shop is always a nice to have but they never have plastic bags available to bag the groceries as you shop until you get to the register. Shopping and checkout were easy, and this trip was a better customer experience than the past.
=old review= The Bad: Our cashier Jokiera needs to be re-trained on how to provide customer service to valued customers. Unfortunately, she has no customer service skills but a young acting mentality. Our recent experience wasn't welcoming or friendly from her and it's no excuse that she is a young lady that is bratty. We got in her line to check out, and she did not acknowledge us at all. I had to speak first to prompt her to say hello in return. She then proceeded complaining to the head cashier and the cashier next to her while checking us out about having 24 minutes left in her shift and she wanted to be relieved from the register early because she was ready to go home. When the head cashier said no and stated that "you don't get everything you want in life", Jokiera even stated to the head cashier that she is used to getting her way. She also stated that she is her father's only child and is used to getting her way. When she doesn't get her way with her father, she screams. Not a good mentality and attitude in any type of job in my opinion. Personally, I think the back and forth and the fact that we were ignored while being checked out was very inappropriate as we just wanted to get checked out and be treated a valued customers for shopping at Giant. I am also in the customer service field for my career and the way Jokiera acted would not fly well in what I do. If we see Jokiera as a cashier again, we will avoid getting in her line knowing that she doesn't have any customer service skills. It's the small things that matter in customer service in my experience.
The Good: Besides the unfortunate check-out experience, we had a good experience shopping in the store where we found all the things we needed. We like the fact that the store is being kept clean even though it hasn't been that long...
Read moreTrue story. My Mom loves Giants. - ok. So Mom buys Boars Head Meat at Giants ( low sodium) . I fell in love with Boars! Anyways I saw a commercial for the new Boars Head FireRoasted Chicken. I knew I had to have it. Then the next day while at work I see a Boars Head delivery truck. Ok , so I kinda felt like it was a sign! Destiny in a way for me to have the Fire Roasted Chicken! So I go to Giants ( for my Mom) and I see a big sign that said Boars Head!! And then I see Tammy! The most nicest person I've come into contact all year! She was friendly and we laughed! I told her about the commercial and the delivery truck! I had to call my Mother to ask her how much I should get and the cut. She was proud to give me the information. While Tammy was cutting it she asked if I'd ever tried it , I kindly said no and while she was cutting it she handed me over a slice! Wow! A Rockstar! ThankTammy! And it was delicious ! A couple even stopped while I was there and I told them about the chicken and they ordered a half of pound . Tammy was just as pleasant to them as she was me! i think Tammy needs to be the face of a new commercial ! Giants she needs a big raise!! Boars Head she deserves a commercial! Thanks for reading! Have a great day! P.S I did come back to buy more. Tammy wasn't there but the people who were were equally helpful and friendly !
Thanks again for the experience...
Read moreGood location with lots of parking. They only have one door open which is really annoying bc it makes traffic in and out of the store tricky.
This store is really really really slow and inefficient with pretty much everything. They rarely have very many checkouts open other than the self-checkout which causes huge lines and long wait times. (I waited at least 20 minutes in line today) When they do have registers open, they assign the Zootopia sloth from the DMV... They are the SLOWEST checkout lanes I've ever experienced (it doesn't help when the employees feel the need to read the ingredients of every item... Seriously it took the dude 20 minutes to check out two people!!).
Then they hire teenagers to be the managers that need to override transactions all the time so the checkout lanes are always blinking so they can approve alcohol purchases or void items over $10. What a dumb policy.
Management of this store is abysmal but I'm sure Giant shareholders made an extra .4% on their shares so that's all that really matters.
It's a shame bc this is actually a pretty nice store with decent produce and deli items and stuff. No wonder the Costco across the street gets so many...
