If I could give zero stars I would give zero stars but it forced me to give one. My son (age 11)took a Pokemon card into a GameStop location approximately 6 months ago to have it professionally graded. We knew it wouldn't be a quick process but it also shouldn't take months to complete. We contacted them approximately 3 months later and they informed us that it had been sent out but that they had no idea where it was. They also told us that they had been having problems with FedEx workers stealing cards but there was no confirmation that that actually happened. We hoped that eventually it would just show up but it has become apparent that that is not going to happen. We have had multiple conversations with the managers at the GameStop location and they are not able to offer any help. They are also not able to verify that they actually sent it out with a tracking number or anything similar. They just said they put tons of cards into a box and they all get sent out at the same time. Alex has paid them $22 for the service and the card is worth approximately $100. About a month ago we did receive something saying that they would be sending him $96 via PayPal but that also was never received. At this point, does he have any options for getting at least the value of the card and what he has paid them back? Each time we've spoken with someone at the store, they've been extremely rude and were not able to offer any help. If anyone out there has any suggestions we would love to hear them! I just feel bad for him that not only did he lose the $22, which is a ton of money to him, but he also lost one of his best cards....
Read moreI have been a loyal gamestop member since about 2011. I have come to this store tons of times since I moved to manassas. Today i went in to upgrade my PS4 to a PS4 Pro at around 5:p.m. Everything started of pretty pleasantly but once the associate noticed my serial number had worn off the bottom of my system the visit turned awful. 1st she signaled another associate to come over so she could "coach" her on why they check everything out on consoles. Then she proceeded to explain to me that she could not except the gaming console because it could be stolen. Which is understandable, but when I told he that i purchased it from another gamestop and there could be an electronic receipt gamestop keeps she proceed to tell me that they still wouldn't accept it because it could be stolen? It took me back...and i explained to her that now it seems like she is accusing me of stealing. I was a Marine for 5 years and never had my integrity questioned but to have it questioned by a gamestop associate just isn't cool. Overall not a very good way to treat someone and very bad choice of customer to do it to as well. I drop like $600 every quarter on videogames and consoles...
Read moreOver the years this GameStop has gotten far worse and once my Pro membership expires I may never come back.
1st reason. Every time I visit and ask questions the staff seems annoyed If they don't know the answer they wont make any effort to find out.
2nd they refuse to price match to their own website and make me wonder why I should to try and support a brick and mortar location. Their are hundreds of other stores online to buy games from.
3rd The lack of customer service and speed when trying to buy something. Both me and my neighbor have spent 10 plus min waiting in a nearly nonexistent line to make a simple purchase despite another employee being able to help...
