If I could give 0 stars I would! Do NOT go to this Costco location. The management is horrific! Especially if you are a woman! Oh and they broke my husbandâs card because they were so careless. The assistant manager Dennis is the one who kept talking over me, because clearly I am a woman and heâs a man. My husband was with me and each time my husband spoke Dennis, the assistant manager didnât do that to him. Nor did the other employee Chris, also a man. Both of these men didnât want to speak with me or hear what I had to say about an issue with them not applying our renewal months back though it showed our rebate checks being used. Once they kept cutting me off I got louder and then that was a problem for those âmenâ. All because I am a female who got loud with them. But when my husband raised his voice, pointed his fingers and such they said nothing. The assistant manager Dennis, accused me of being âupsetâ too but not my husband. I donât know way this location has so many male managers who have issue with women and canât allow them to speak. Iâm a member, it shouldnât have to be my husband talking for me. This isnât the 1950âs! Iâm appalled at how I was treated today by male managers and laughed at by them. Especially since this store has a female store manager. Yet of course she wasnât available. The employee named Louis is who broke my husbands membership card then walked off. We had a large order too and were just there 11/30/2023 and there was ZERO mention of any issue with our account. We renewed at the Winchester location back in September of this year (2023) bc the rebate check came early. They suddenly months later donât have record of us renewing but of us using our rebate checks. The employee who did our renewal even made a comment about how our rebate checks covered the price to renew plus some. Yet now months later Costco has forgotten and or canât find where we renewed. It wouldnât have been so awful if the assistant manager Dennis didnât behave like a misogynist who couldnât handle a conversation with an adult female. Never again will I come to this location. And Costco needs to do better, period! They are trying to double dip on me and my spouse, claiming we didnât renew yet the system hasnât alerted to that the last 4 times weâve shopped there in less than 30days. Please Costco get Dennis some training for dealing with female customers and how to be appropriate as a leader and provide customer service to all not just the...
Read moreI have been a Costco member for years, not only a member and a loyal member, however, my recent experience left me in a shock and deeply disappointed. I was treated based on my color and I know I am not the only one that had experience such treated over the years.
Being a Costco member, spending $800 to $1000 every month, I wrote to the CEO of Costco to complain about how I was treated at the Manassas store on Saturday 8/2/2025. I felt disgraced and not wanted as a customer. I did not get a reply from him, and I got an email from the general manager, who lied to me that he called me, and I did not pick up. I did not see a missed call nor a voicemail. Instead, he was asking me to call him. More disrespectful and lack of customer focus.
This is what happened, I drove about 40 minutes to the Costco in Manassas, VA and was there around 9:30am. Upon entering the store and scanning my card, I was refused entry to the store. I was asked to either upgrade my card to the black card or would not be allowed to enter the store until 10am. I told them I never knew about this new law and never notified about this. No answer was given to me.
A few minutes later, I saw a white guy with the same card as mine allowed into the store. When I questioned that, I was lied to, telling me that he has upgraded already. If he had upgraded, why was he still holding the same card as mine?
The manager was called, and she has no customer service ethics, instead, she repeated the same thing the other guy had said. I am so disappointed and felt discrimination.
So, I wrote an email to the CEO of Costco and I an email from someone by name of Jill Jordan who claimed to be the general manager. The email claimed I was called but no voicemail left and no missed call. So, I replied to the manager and said that I did not see a missed call from him/her. And that was it.
The question lies, why do we really shop at Costco, a company that we pay to shop in their stores and yet don't really want us there. Are their goods better than other stores like Walmart, Sam's Club, BJs etc, no, never and Costco is not cheaper than the other stores either.
I gave the general manager time to see if he/she was going to call me or email me back, but never. of course, I am not as important as other customers, why would they contact me anyway.
Costco pride itself on treating members fairly, but my experience contradicted that image. I think I deserved to be treated with dignity...
Read moreI wish I could give Zero stars. Here is my story and it just solidifies the way I feel about Costco. My husband is the one who shops and picks up the same items regularly for our home (paper towels, facial and bathroom tissues, paper plates, cases of water, his Gillette shaver cartridges and the Kirkland brand meatballs sometimes some other items that catches his eyes). Well this past weekend he picked up some of the usual necessities and a package of his Gillette cartridges ($39.99). We purchased $7000 dollar worth of blinds for our home. Apparently he didn't notice, he left the cartridges behind. I personally do not like Costco. I have a membership, because when I met my husband he added me to his membership. I seldom shop there. I have purchased eye glasses there (not happy with the quality). When he told me that he had left his cartridges, I said hold on to your receipt but call Costco to ask if someone turned it in or see if they will allow you to grab another one. Well he was hesitant to call but I said to him $40 is not $10 and it is your hard earned money, at least call. He wouldn't, so I called and told the young lady on the phone about the situation. The young lady said there was nothing they could do over the phone but that my husband should come in and speak to one of the supervisors. I encouraged my husband to go. He went to the Costco Manassas and spoke to a supervisor who apparently said there was nothing he could do for him, since the product left the store and got left behind outside not in the store. I was shocked since I worked retail for years we were told to accommodate customers. I was once told by a grocery store manager that if a customer came in with a turkey from another grocery store complaining about the turkey, we are to give them back the money for the turkey. You do not want to lose a customer. Well, I have known my husband now for 13 years. He has always shopped at Costco for bulk items and had been doing so years before I met him. He said he is done. He will not return to Costco again. So not only has Costco lost the purchase of our membership they have also lost the hundreds or thousands of dollars we spend at their store over a lousy $40. I am sorry I encouraged my husband to try and see if Costco would provide him with good customer service. Au...
