Ocean State Job Lot — Local services in Litchfield

Ocean State Job Lot is one of my favorite "idea" places much to my wifes regret. I do tend to often go over budget when I am there. It is a great place, during the pandemic to pick up hand sanitizers, gloves, masks and even some of the "As seen on TV" advertized. I dislike waiting for deliveries, I'm of the: I want to try it now, thought. My usual reason for going there is pet supplies, however they also have a decent art supply area, prep supplies for painting and cleaning dry goods such as jams, jellies, olive oils, seasonal goods, and a fairly large gardening supply area. They also carry some seasonal clothes, as well as home products like sheets and blankets. If you're having a party, check out grill supplies and seasonal plastic dishes and bowls. I've always liked OSJL. I would go in for a couple of items and come out with a bagful. It's been open for a while now, but I am very happy that OSJL in Litchfield opened when Stop and Shop relocated. This store is clean and easy to navigate. I just discovered within the past week that their customer service is over the top. First it was a young man helping me with a wheelbarrow I had seen online and went to purchase in person, then it was over the phone when I called to see if a doormat was in stock. The one I wanted was not, and the young woman seemed genuinely disappointed on my behalf. She gave me the # for the Torrington store so I could call them. Incidentally, they had it but their customer service wasn't nearly on par with Litchfield. I...

I Visited this store for the first time today since it had opened. This is one of the nicer Ocean state Job lots that I have been to. Very clean and neat. However, I’m only giving the store 2 stars because a cashier named Shelley made the check out experience awful. She was extremely rude to myself and my senior mother and even her coworkers! We hoped to use the senior discount on an item and she argued that it was not included when in fact the policy didn’t not exclude this type of item. She actually discarded the senior discount verbiage that was taped to he counter after the discount worked on the item.
