Hometown Pizza — Restaurant in Litchfield

This is mainly a review of their pizza, and mainly their slices - I've probably gotten whole pies only about 5 or 6 times. They're solid. The crust is medium, not thin, but excellent texture and flavor. As a long time customer I wish they would switch up their selection just a little, but for someone visiting for the first time the ten or so choices will seem great I'm sure. The eggplant slice (it's also got broccoli, sliced tomato, and I can't remember what else) is delicious and 1 slice = a meal. It's not the best pizza in Connecticut, that's ridiculous. But it's the best in my 5 mile radius.

12/6/23 - Dropping two stars. About 2-3 times a month my girlfriend and I will get slices. Lately the selection has been terrible. I mean, your basic "please everybody" slices are probably plain cheese and pepperoni. Today they they had no cheese, no pepperoni, no mushroom. Nothing in the oven. Just, "all we've got is what's in the case." So I looked over what they had left - it was like garlic & broccoli, chicken bacon ranch, meat lovers, and a couple of other sad, dried out leftovers - and walked out. Nothing looked good. A hidden gem. We stumbled across this place while stopping for gas and we were hungry. I was a little hesitant about ordering pizza from the back of a gas station, but the place was charmingly rustic, surprisingly large/busy, and most importantly it smelled fantastic! Ordered a couple pizza slices to-go and they were delicious. A great spot to grab a slice when you're on the road. Food is good !!! Great to stop in and grab a slice !!! But there prices to order a dinner is out of control!!! 35 dollars for a small pizza and a salad ??? Really it’s bread and lettuce!!! I understand prices are up but damn !!! Go to woods pit in bantam and eat like a king for half the price and have real food not over priced bread and rabbit food!! Sorry but just telling the truth!!
