This is not a bookstore. Yes...they sell books. But you'll be missing the true value of this establishment if you go in just to find something to add to your collection. This is a place of wonder. And it is curated by a unique and insightful proprietor, Todd. You can go buy a book in a thousand places. But you don't go to Aaron's Books just that simple purpose. You go there to have your soul examined, your dreams puzzled out, and your imagination expanded. The transaction starts with simply engaging with Todd and asking him, "What's the best book you have here that I have not read?" And he will guide you through a selection of treasures you have probably walked past hundreds of times, never knowing the boundless possibilities that lay hidden between the covers. This has been my experience time and time again whenever I visit Todd. He is the keeper of this wonder and magic creating and filling a new category and class of Lore Master. He calls his shop a bookstore to meet the needs of the Algorithm. But as you can see, his craft is more subltle...and his wares somewhat more indescribable than what one's GPS has planned for. His is a shop of insight and delight. You'll just have to stop in and experience this for yourself. Thank you, Todd, for the latest adventure you led me to. I deeply appreciate it and am fully satisfied at simply having...
Read moreAaron's Books is a really nice little book store. We visited on a Sunday in July late in the afternoon and checked everything out. They have a great selection and the young lady working there that day was super helpful, my friend brought up a book and had questions about whether it was a good read and not personally familiar with it, she looked it up online, let him know what people were saying in the reviews and helped better inform his purchase. He ended up grabbing that book and I haven't had a chance to ask him whether he'd began reading it and what he thought yet, but I felt like she went above and beyond to help him figure out if he'd enjoy that book. The store is really nice and I loved some of the personal touches like a rack of staff recommendations which brought a graphic novel I'd never even heard of to my attention which I would have purchased had my fiancé not informed me she already owns that from before we lived together and I could dig it out of her collection to read. Great store and helpful staff, wish I'd gotten her name to shout her out. Will return if we're ever...
Read moreI love that this is pretty much the only independent bookstore in Lancaster County that hasn't moved its location into the city. Coming from the Ephrata area, it's so much more convenient to drive 15 minutes to Lititz, versus the 25 minute trip it takes to get into the city. I always love coming here to browse both new and used selections.. over the years, I've seen it evolve from a used-only bookstore, to incorporating new releases. The atmosphere is so lovely, and the store is decently large for being an independent bookseller. I will ALWAYS reccommend shopping small and local versus buying from the big companies. Also.. taking a trip here is much better than parking in a B&N parking lot... you get to walk around downtown Lititz! 🥰 You can also support another small business down the street by grabbing a hot coffee or tea from one of the cafe's nearby, and purusing the shelves in this homely bookstore. Keep small businesses...
