Don’t shop here! Unsafe they do not wear masks during Covid.

I’ve shopped here for years and my family have spent over thousands of dollars at this establishment. Today when I walked in, I went to look at the price at something in the window. A lady quickly rushed over to tell me not to touch anything in the window, “please read the sign. I get it, makes sense not touching something in the window but I just walked into the store and did not see or read the sign. So I’m a 40 year old man made out to feel like an 8 year old boy being yelled at by his mom.

But here’s the catch. The lady is such a rule follower and told me that it is her job to “look out for the safety and protection of the customers so no one gets hurt”. That was her reply. YET, two of four the employees were not wearing masks for my entire 20 minutes of me walking through the store. One maskless employee talking in the phone loudly for the whole time spitting on every product in the store. But her job is to “worry about the safety and protection of the customers”. Well wear is your safety protocol when wearing masks? Does it only matter when checking a price in the front window? Not for Covid?

I am not one to care for wearing masks when I am outside or at my home and would normally not complain but I follow the rules when I go into stores. But if you are going to yell at me for checking the price on something in the front window when I didn’t even know it there was a sign then I have no problem yelling at your shop for not wearing masks when the WHOLE COUNTRY is told on a daily basis to wear a mask inside. What’s more important: me breaking a 45 dollar item in a window and having to pay for it or an employee in the store giving every elderly antique...

Let me tell you a story. I have lived in this town for 10 years and last year on Christmas Eve, was the first time that i walked through the doors. Pretty antique shop with lots of furniture, porcelain figurines, tchotchkes, jewelry, books, etc. A lot of items didn't have pricing and the owner/employees were deep in conversation at the register the entire time we perused.
