We discovered this ice cream shop two years ago and have been frequenting it ever since. There are a ton of places to go for ice cream in the area so there has to be something special to draw us to this little place in Little Falls. There are three main differences between this and the chain locations - 1) the Gifford ice cream from New England has some of the most unique and natural flavors. The volume of traffic ensures that the ice cream will be fresh and the new freezer cases keep the proper temperature - never a recrystallized surface on any of the ice cream in the tubs. Always a creamy texture. 2) The servings are better than the measured sizes at many other places and you feel like you are getting more for your money on top of reasonable pricing. 3) The help is always friendly, making the atmosphere very inviting. The store is kept nice and clean with a handful of tables - each one clean and with its own supply of napkins. There is also a couple of park benches just outside the storefront if you prefer to sit and watch the traffic on Main Street to the right or possibly catch a glimpse of a deer in the wooded area to the left of the shop. We have experienced both! Ft here are some sundae specials on the big blackboard in the front of the store. My favorite is the "US Mint" which comes in various sizes and combines Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream with sprinkles and a chocolate cap that is formed by the freezing of warm chocolate poured onto the surface of the ice cream. This can be topped with whipped cream and a cherry for a super tasty treat. We live in Clifton - a 10 minute ride - but it is well worth the trip and even for a take home purchase, the ice cream is still in great shape when it gets home. A...
Read moreI just started going to Falls Creamery and it’s some of the best ice cream flavors around. There’s a mix of fruit and creamy flavors with lots of variety in between. The Campfire S’mores made me loyal instantly. The Bordeaux Cherry flavor was a deviation for me but I was so happy with the result. Peanut butter lovers: there’s a good variety of options for you with chocolate and vanilla based. So that’s all awesome before you even get to shakes, sundaes, and toppings! Where the creamery is really the winner is the price. For a regular cone with two scoops of ice cream you’ll pay $4, a waffle cone is $5. That is some of the most affordable ice cream around. I love that I can taste two flavors for $4. So I come back as...
Read moreWe were in the area and did a quick Google search for ice cream nearby. Google nailed it with this suggestion! Driving by the line was very long and we were going to come back another day but once turning the corner a parking spot was available. We opted to walk around the corner and I am glad that we did! My son loved looking at all the different names of ice creams and reading the delicious concoctions on the menu boards. Great generous sized portions with plenty of toppings. At the time of our arrival there was only one young man working behind the counter, but WOW was he fast and made it look like a breeze. Extremely tasty ice cream, great atmosphere, great service. I am sure we will be...
