I love to go to the Bass Pro Shops. Sometimes just to window shop and wander around inside enjoying the atmosphere and all the neat things to see. Today I am watching a man standing at one the entry/exit ways on the east side of the building. Heâs got a sign asking for donations and a small child also. The little boy looks about 5-6 years old. Heâs playing while his dad is standing in the corner of the roadside and entryway/exit to the Shop. I donât see a mother or anyone else near them. The little boy is running around and jumping and rolling on the ground. Typical little boy stuff. But heâs playing right next to all the traffic coming in and going out. Itâs a pretty busy time of day. Thereâs a lot of traffic right there. Itâs the last entrance before you get to the service road and itâs also the nearest exit from the Shop to the service road. Itâs a busy area. Iâm a little worried about the little guy. Children and traffic are something that has always been concerning for me. Anything can happen. People lose control of their vehicles sometimes. Predators snatch and go all the time. Children are not watching the traffic and shouldnât really need to be. Thatâs what adults are supposed to do. Running and jumping and rolling are not activities for children near high traffic areas. Trips and falls are never planned but happen frequently in the lives of children. Itâs just what they do. Parents canât stop it from happening but they can stop it from happening in areas that are dangerous. There is no possible way to pay close enough attention to a child playing behind you and watching for vehicles that are trying to donate to you in the opposite direction. You just canât do it. We as parents would love to have eyes in the back of our heads but alas all we can really do is joke about having them and worry our children that we might have them. Children are precious and deserve to be able to play safely and carefree. Itâs just my opinion and the thoughts that Iâve had while watching and what I, as a parent, always thought about when it came to my children or any child that was in the near vicinity. Traffic and children deserve extra attention when the two are close to each other. Thatâs our job. Our responsibility. Our duty and should well be...
Read moreI Will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH BASS PRO SHOP EVER AGAIN.
Bass Pro Shop in Little Rock makes a simple transaction the most pain staking process possible. To begin with, the Bass Pro Shop website was having issues. It would not bring up the links to allow for store to store purchase and transfer. I was trying to purchase a small .22cal rifle. I went in to the Little Rock store to ask for assistance with the purchase. They refused to do a credit card transaction, have it sent to them, or help me in any way. I called the store that had the rifle in stock. They assisted me with a credit card purchase over the phone, and shipped it to Little Rock from Memphis. After a week, I received a call that the rifle came in. I asked what I needed to pick up the rifle. I was told a valid photo ID/drivers license, and conceal carry license, if I had one. I have both. Both are current. My drivers license is good for 8 years. I drove over an hour one way to pick up the rifle. It was already paid for. Bass Pro Shop at Little Rock refused to allow me to pick up the rifle, because I had recently moved. It had been less than a month. Even though my ID is still valid and good for 8 years, they want me to drive another hour back home. They want me to go and Pay for a new drivers license, before releasing the rifle to me over a very minor technicality. Again, they couldn't tell me this when I asked what I needed to pick it up. The rifle will be registered to my Social Security number. I purchased it with a credit card which keeps information updated. The govt. will know where the rifle is regardless. If it ends up being much of a hassle to change my drivers license, I'll just send the rifle back and buy it from a different company. Either way, it has been way to difficult to give Bass Pro Shop my money. They have wasted my Time. They have wasted my Gas. They have made this transaction way to stressful, beyond inconvenience. Either way, I will never do business with Bass Pro...
Read moreUntil yesterday, I had no complaints with the Little Rock store whatsoever. I was in a fishing tournament last week and won a Bass Pro Shops Tourney Special Baitcast Rod and Reel Combo. The rod was left-handed and I was told by the tournament organizers that I could take it to the store and exchange it for a right-handed rod with no issues. My wife and I drove nearly two hours to exchange it out because I wanted to use it in an upcoming tournament. Once we got there, we spoke with customer service, who in turn called for a manager. While on the phone, the customer service representative was heard saying, âwell it says Bass Pro on the rod.â The packaging had not even been removed, so it was very obvious that it was from there. While waiting, the customer service rep asked which tournament I had won the rod in and I gave her the information. We were approached by not one but two managers. They questioned us about whether or not we had a gift receipt and I explained that I had won the rod in a tournament so I did not have any kind of receipt. I was then informed that there was nothing they could do for us and we were basically ushered out the door. My wife asked one of the managers what the issue was with just changing it out for the correct handed rodâŚthere was to be no money exchangedâŚjust an even swap. The manager still insisted that he could do nothing without a receipt. On the two hour ride back home, I contacted the Memphis location as well as checking the return policy on Bass Proâs website and discovered that was not their policy at all. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the outcome and the way we were treated. Hopefully this will result in a policy and customer service review and get every store on...
