C2 - Complements Two — Local services in Livingston

There is nothing like shopping local for retail therapy. These words don’t begin to describe what Livingston long time women-owned business Complements 2 has to offer. From the moment you walk in the owner greets you and is there to offer her expertise, gently asking if you are shopping for anything particular. She has a wonderful way about her that is calm and not pushy, and is genuinely complementary (as in the store name) besides having great sense of style. Whenever I go in her store with empty hands I leave with more then shopping bags, I leave with a sense of renewal. I can’t wait to go home and try on my new pieces again and again! Boutique experiences aren’t always like the one at Compliments, she and her employees have a nice demeanor, and treat every customer like they are appreciative they have chosen to patron their store. I am proud to have a sophisticated, but also trend-setting, fashion forward store in my hometown where I don’t have to go anywhere else when I have either a special occasion or just want to shop for some...

I know this store has been around a while, so they must have a loyal customer base. It won't include me.

I popped in on a whim on a Saturday afternoon. My foot was hardly in the door and one of the two sales gals said: "we are closing in 5 minutes."

There is nothing welcoming about that introduction to this outrageously expensive fashion boutique.

I poked around for two minutes and left. On my way, out she said: "stop back another day."

If I were the owner, I would have liked the salesperson to handle it with more warmth and grace. "Welcome to our store. I am so sorry but we are closing in 5 minutes. Are you looking for something specific? I can give you a little direction."

Sadly, I had stopped in this store one other time 5-6 years ago. I had the same "stay out" experience.

I love Complements Two! They offer some of the best lines in fashion (I previously worked in trend forecasting for 10 years for a large global retailer). I ordered FREE CITY sweatpants during quarantine & they arrived very quickly!
