I cannot recommend the Sareh Nouri Flagship at The Mall at Short Hills any more highly! After being burned by Emily's in Staten Island, I found myself with no dress three weeks before my daughter's wedding. I ran to The Mall at Short Hills hoping to find something I would love. None of the department stores have evening gown stock any more. On the verge of tears, I happened to walk by the NEW Sareh Nouri Flagship. It was like a mirage! First of all, the space is gorgeous. It is decorated with such elegance and detail. Deborah was a dream to work with. She saw how upset I was and eased my nerves with her calm demeanor. She assured me that I was in the right place for help, and they were ready, willing and able. She was able to quickly get Sareh Nouri herself on the phone and show me which dresses were an option for me from the new Evening Gown collection. As soon as I tried on the Maxine dress, I knew I had found the dress I dreamed of for my daughter's wedding. Deborah and Sareh worked with me via an iPad: Took photos of me, measured me and helped me add a sleeve to the strapless style. The silk material of the Maxine is to die for! Deborah followed up with the nicest note that I received about a week later. I went to the design studio in Rutherford, NJ for two fittings and worked with Allison. She was so professional and experienced and fitted the dress to me perfectly. They created a perfect dress for me in less than three weeks. I cannot be more grateful! The compliments I received at the wedding were wonderful - simply gorgeous. I hope no one EVER finds themselves in the last-minute position I was in, but if you do Sareh Nouri is the place to go. I was lucky enough to find her when I needed her for an evening gown from her NEW evening gown collection. However, her bridal gowns are stunning, too! They just ooze class and sophistication. You will feel like a princess shopping at the new Flagship location. Run there, don't walk, to get your dream dress! And you will have an incredibly...
Read moreBe aware of the alterations! The dresses are beautiful and the service at the store is great. However my dress was an embarrassing disaster on my wedding day. I choose to go with the Sareh Nouri alterations, which cost $1,000.
First they are only available Monday-Friday 9AM-4PM. Also availability is very limited due to them being âbusyâ. I was promised a fitting 2 weeks before my wedding when I ordered my dress 5 months in advance. However, as we got close to the date they were âtoo busyâ to get me an appointment and scheduled one 1 week before my wedding. I asked them what would happen if more alterations were needed at the second fitting since the dress was not close to being ready; and their response was âoh it will beâ. And by not ready I mean the sleeves are 2 different lengths, The hem was longer in one side than the other, and threads were pulling off the lace.
I come the week before my wedding on my last fitting and the dress is not hemmed. They insisted thatâs how it should be. After some back and forth I told them this dress is not ready. So they went to the back and hemmed it and packed it up without having me try it on again. I told them I was in a rush before, and they just took the liberty to pack it and said âyou donât need to try it on; itâs doneâ Half panicked and in a rush I made the mistake of trusting them. Attached are the pictures of the hem of my dress on my wedding day. I am beyond embarrassed and so furious I paid $6,500 on this dress.
Finally , at my first fitting I asked for the lace overlay on top to be detachable and they gave me some answer about how the dress weight depended on it and that it would need to get completely redone to get it removed. I showed it to my regular tailor who said she could do it in a week and that was a plain lie - there just simply wasnât enough time by the time they had the dress ready for her to do it.
Unprofessional and unethical!
My goal in writing this review is not to punish them but to warn other brides from falling into...

Fortunately, erasing bad reviews on the internet doesn't silence people.
"This review comes several months after my encounter with Sareh Nouri. I was met with a disinterested person who couldnât have been less enthusiastic about someone wanting to buy her dress.
I didnât think too much into it and chalked it up to her having a bad day.
The following week I sought out a dress of hers at a different bridal appointment. They did not have it in store so my associate said she would reach out to the designer and see when they can get it. Our associate re-entered the fitting room that I waited in with my three friends with a look of shock on her face. She informed us that the designer (Sareh Nouri) wanted to know what ethnicity we are. She was extremely apologetic for relaying this to us but was âflooredâ and stated she had never had a designer ask her such an inappropriate question. She went on to say that she is sharing this information because she would hate for me to give my business to that kind of a person.
I went on in my search for a dress, which I successfully found made by an extremely talented, successful, and kind local NYC designer who made me the perfect dress!
I share this review because while I canât judge her team, I can share that when this encounter was brought to her attention, she hid behind a response from her team claiming cultural competency.
I know that the wedding/bridal industry has its ugly sides but I feel very lucky to have met some pretty outstanding and talented people during the process. This designerâs behavior was so ugly that someone risked their job to be transparent with the customer about it.
While I will continue shouting off the rooftops about the great folks I encountered in this process, I will also keep sharing this story about my encounter with her because I think most people care about how people...
