I was really hoping for some awesome authentic Italian cold and hot Subs, etc... But these guys dont even have Hot Peppers... The sandwich-maker is like "try the pepper relish".... Really??? The bread is like soft "ciabatta" style... Panera has better bread, and thats not saying much... My Italian Sub, meat came out of the table bin "pre-cut" rolled in a white paper... The cold cuts, whatever brand, were certainty NOT Thumans or Boars Head... some generic brand I guess, but how would know, you cant see any of the meats... On top of it, they have an empty store front, not even a stool and counter to sit down and eat at... Wow, what a disappointment.. All that and my 1/2 sub and a water was almost $12.00!!!
I will go down the road to Jersey Mikes, where the meats are sliced fresh, they have hot peppers not to mention a decent roll.. Subway across the street would even do your wallet and appetite better justice than "Tony Boys"....
UPDATE - 9/14/17 ---- Laura F must be the owners family, or a business partner.. I have never had anyone attack me, for my review of anything. Laura, my review was based on my visit to Tony Boy's , i detailed my opinion and observations made on my visit, and pre-cut, unidentified cold cuts were a fact of my visit... also, if Tony Boy's, now has 3 varieties of Hot Peppers, that's GREAT!!! The day of my visit I don't think he did, if he did then too, someone should have told the sandwich maker, all i was offered was a "pepper relish"... If you don't like the sandwich chains, that are wildly successful, that's your opinion, and fine too! If Tony Boy's did 15% of Jersey Mikes business... Tony would be a HAPPY guy, laughing all the way to the bank for sure... Calabria Restaurant, nearby makes a great sandwich, and for deli type sandwiches, the KING, Eppes Essen is also right across the street. You can actually sit down, with table service and enjoy your sandwich... They all also offer " in and out service " as Laura F refers to in her review which is great if your going...
Read moreThis place is awesomely amazing and delicious beyond expectations. I am not from the area, and someone mentioned that this place is great.... AND THEY WERE RIGHT!!!
During my time in the area I have made it my point to try multiple sandwiches, and none of them ever disappointed.
I even got crazy and tried their chicken sandwich with peanut butter, jelly and bacon. At this point I'm totally convinced that every sandwich on their menu is just as spectacular as the next.
Though.... I do feel as if the Dan Marino is my absolute favorite. The sliced steak is perfect. They don't skimp in any way. The sandwich is stuffed to the gills and is overflowing with all its goodness, as seen in the picture attached with this review. Their homemade coleslaw is spectacular and nothing beats throwing potato chips in an already delicious sandwich. Not to forget to mention the incredible sauce that coats the sandwich. And if your extra gluttonous as I was.... I even added bacon to it... because why f'n not!!!
Big thanks to Tony Boys and their staff who is incredibly nice, friendly, and accommodating!
If this review is your deciding factor for trying this Livingston community staple, just tell them Movie-man Eric sent ya!
Can't wait to try another one of their creations the next time that...
Read moreI never wrote a review before, but this place is LAME! The meatball parm sandwich was frozen in the middle of the meatballs. The gravy was bottled for sure. I am full Italian, and this was a horrible sandwich. I will never go here again. Also this place is super expensive. Buyer beware. Mark
To Owner- you had a meatball sub last week when I tried your sub store in Livingston. Maybe it was a special? Nevertheless, a meatball parm is a sub, and i agree, you are a sub store. Additionally, i said your gravy tasted like bottled tomato sauce. Now you say you dont have sauce? Oh, I suppose the red stuff on my wife's chicken parm was ketchup, since you dont have sauce. You are really disconnected from your customers, and obvioulsy your food offerings as well. You should be more concerned about offering value and quality, not saying you dont sell products that you dont like the review of by the people who bought it. By the way, my wife did like her chicken parm, with the mysterios red "liquid" on it, it wasnt tomato sauce, right, you dont have tomato sauce.... but then again, shes not Italian... what does...
