My daughter found a designer that she loved for her prom dress. We researched and found that Jacqueline carried the dresses that she loved. We made an appointment and were surprised that we couldn't actually shop ourselves. The sales staff asks a few questions about what you like and they bring you dresses. Some may not mind that but we like to look and try different things so this was not our favorite way to shop. That said, my daughter did find a dress. The dress was a bit snug so the sales staff ordered one for us (this was in February). I should state that parents sit off to the side so I never saw what the sizes were or the costs of the dresses. My daughter said one of the dresses given to her to try on was a size "0" and she is a size "8". In addition, the girl helping my daughter kept making her try on one dress over and over again despite my daughter saying she didn't like it?
I should have checked the size on the dress she tried on before we ordered it and I should have paid closer attention to the size they were ordering. We were told (and we both heard this) that the dress would take 2-3 weeks to come in. I called after 3 weeks and the person on the phone told me no way was I ever told that it would be a few weeks. I stayed very polite but this person has zero customer service skills.
Finally I emailed in May because I was so nervous that if any alterations had to be made we wouldn't have time. When I emailed I got a response that it should be in any day. I received a call later that same day stating the dress had miraculously appeared. We went to get the dress and I have never been so upset with a store. Despite the dress hanging when we go there it clearly had been balled up and shoved in a bag. It was beyond wrinkled. When my daughter put it on it was so big she literally could spin the dress around on her body. The staff member told her she could tape it??????
I should have said something but I was so in shock and all over the place they state that all sales are final. I'm now paying an additional $300 for alterations on the dress because they had to take it in so much.
So the lesson for this store is: Mom's pay attention to what your daughter is trying on. DO NOT order anything! If you like shopping and seeing different styles this store is not for you.
We will never go back here and my daughter has told all of her friends to not bother. After waiting 3 months to get the dress we are super happy with the seamstress and will totally be recommending them to...
Read moreWe recently went to this store and bought a dress for my daughters prom. We were told it was the only one that they had gotten. Everything was great! 3 weeks later, at lunch time at school, girls were being girls exchanging ideas for prom and such when my daughters finds out that she had the same dress as one of her classmates. It seems like they sold the same dress to another girl from the same school on the same day, two hours apart. We visited 2 other locations to look for dresses and these other stores were very adamant that they kept track of the schools they sold these dresses to. Apparently this store does not. It is absolutely unfortunate that we as parents make a sacrifice to pay a pretty hefty price for a dress for this special occasion so they can feel unique and special, to have these things happen. Honestly, If I wanted to run the risk of her having the same dress as a classmate, I would’ve bought it on Amazon and not pay so much money for a dress. All of this because the staff don’t want to put in an extra effort of at least keeping track of the schools that these girls go to and making sure that they don’t sell the same dress. Come on, they sold the same style, same color, on the same day… 2 hours apart! I am writing this review so everyone is aware of this practice at this store. I tried calling them directly to see if they would be willing to help, but the lady at the phone was just plain rude and just gaslighted her way on establishing the point that it was my daughters responsibility to make sure that her friend didn’t buy the same dress as hers. Ridiculous!...
Read moreWould not recommend this store. My prom was only a few days ago and my dress fell apart, I bought a Sherri Hill dress, which is expensive and great quality. I went to pick up my dress only two days before my prom. They made me wait a whole month.... I trusted their tailor to make the adjustments she needed to my dress. At the time I didn't realize the signs that they had done something wrong to my dress, they try to get us to sign for the dress so quickly that something seems sketchy. Then they wouldn't let us take a close look at the dress. Later that evening I'd seen the bottom of my dress had strings hanging out of it meaning Maria did not take the time (which was more then 30 days) to tailor it correctly. Once I got to my prom the beating of my dress fell off. Once I took a closer look I saw that where she made the adjustments to the straps she did not fully see it. I paid way too much money for my dress to fall apart. I am so angry at this business. Not only that but once I was there everyone was so rude. They wouldn't let me look for a dress for more then 10 minutes, they rush me. Then like the policy says I had a parent with me but they didn't even allow parents to give there input. Lastly when I was getting a fitting Maria rudely kept yelling at my mom to shut up and not to talk. It is disrespectful and okay Maria sure you're a tailor but obviously you don't know how to treat customers or trailor a dress. Do even bother coming...
