Mimo's Jewelry and Watches — Local services in Long Beach

By far the most unprofessional watch dealer I encounter in my life. I emailed Mimo to ask whether I could get the Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic and Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium to try on with a free return label if I am keeping 1 out of the 2 watches. Mimo specifically replied telling me it was not a problem at all and he will include 1 return label just so I can try it out to pick 1 out of the 2 watches since I didn’t get the chance to try the watch through online purchase.

After some inquiries to clear some confusions and after I have made the purchase, Mimo then abruptly broke his promise, he changes his terms, he won’t send me the return label and I’d have to pay for the return unless I pick the more expensive Khaki Titanium.

Mimo’s term and promise changes the moment I made the purchase. Suddenly, return label is conditional only if I pick the more expensive Khaki Titanium.

Obviously I confronted Mimo with the broken promise and his response was really rude, I mean really really rude. What’s more insulting is Mimo then made it clear he was not interested in doing business with me and I was asked to return my purchase, all of this just because I wanted to clarify some confusion and was asking for a return label he promised earlier.

I was ready to take my business somewhere else, moments later Mimo then calls me, unprofessionally told me he will only send the return label strictly under the condition that I must keep 1 watch. Seriously folks, take your business somewhere else, this Mimo jeweler breaks promises literally few days later AFTER you make purchase from him. Very unprofessional, not recommended...

I found this Jewelry shop through a Google search. I didn't know if a new store would be as inviting as the jewelry store my husband and I depended on in the Los Feliz. That store was down from Shylight Books and we have pleasant memories from our purchases and conversations with the owner. He and his wife made you feel like they cared for you as a person as well as their customer. It closed down. We are pleasantly surprised with Mimo's. The owner was helpful and professional. I needed work on an item my mother left me just before she died. I felt comfortable leaving the item to be worked on and available for pickup the next day. In fact I was called to pick it up that night, but I was in for the evening. The next day I picked up the items as a lady was leaving the store. Her pleasant manner indicated she was pleased with Mimo's too. I certainly will return to Mimo's. It definitely is a "Number One" Store -- one of the best Jewelry...

Have an older Seiko Perpetual Calendar watch that is very difficult to set, and has a hard to find battery. I have taken this watch to several other shops who could either not source the correct battery, or were only able to set the time correctly, not the calendar. Mimo was able to quickly source the correct battery and set the perpetual calendar properly, and I had my watch back and running in less than a week!

I was also interested in some of the Seiko Luxe watches he can get, and he answered all my questions directly, even though I wasn't buying a new watch that day.

I'll definitely be back, likely with some other repairs on some vintage watches I really would like to get running again. I 100% recommend Mimo's, and will keep this review updated when I use his...
