I love going to Uncommon Threads. Everyone there is so knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging! I started attending Tuesday Knit Night regularly a few months ago and now it's a part of my must-do weekly routine. As an intermediate knitter and crocheter I felt so welcomed by everyone and inspired to take on new challenges because not only is everyone fabulous at their craft, Stephanie has built an environment where it's truly a support network of wonderful humans and fiber crafters.
Stephanie keeps a quality stock of a variety of plant, synthetic, and animal fibers, and she and her staff are more than happy to order additional stock of anything you need.

Read moreYou do not want to bring children to this store. I brought 4 year olds in who were admittedly over excited to pick out yarn for the hat I was to make them. Store is small and very quiet. Patrons were working on projects at tables which minimizes room to browse. I had a woman snap at me that I needed to move away from the yarn we were looking at because she was focusing on her project and we were bothering her. I thought perhaps at that point a store employee who could clearly hear the conversation might just ask to help me in narrowing the yarn a bit more quickly. She didn't even look up. had to leave without the purchase. Hopefully they are polite to people...

In a world where it's so easy to buy online, I find myself going out of my way to visit Uncommon Threads to make sure this wonderful resource of in-person color and fiber experiences continues to exist.
