Our experience at Cetrella was simply amazing. Service is five stars from the beginning to the end of our visit: sincere, genuine greetings from the owner and the servers, feels like visiting friends instead of dining in a restaurant. Our visit was during COVID so we were seated at the patio outdoors, it just happened so the weather was perfect and the sunset mesmerizing, perfect for a Thursday evening outing. The food: everything is flavorful, fresh, well-executed, and artistically-plated. We had the chilled English pea soup as the starter... delicate flavors with refreshing taste, topped with beautiful fresh flowers. Blue crab cakes were cooked to perfection with seasoning that enhanced the sweet crab meat. Filet mignon with black truffle potato dauphinois with fondu de poireaux melted leek... I'm still dreaming about it as I type. It's a balanced master piece, the plat de resistance that you anticipate and that delivers. Finally, the chocolate fondant cake with caramel ganache melting heart... the perfect ending note to a gastronomical experience of a dinner. I've had the chance to dine at amazing restaurants around the world, can't believe that we've just found this gem in our South...

Cetrella is hands-down one of the best restaurants in Los Altos for upscale dining, special occasions, or a romantic night out. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and elegant, the perfect blend of modern California charm and classic sophistication.

The food was phenomenal. We ordered the seasonal fish crudo to start, which was perfectly tender and flavorful, followed by the fava bean hummus, corn soup, Mezze Rigatoni, and forest mushroom risotto, all cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The seasonal ingredients and attention to detail in every dish truly set this place apart. Amol the chef even came out and greeted us.

Service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and made excellent wine and drink pairing suggestions from their impressive cocktail list. All made with fresh ingredients.

Whether you’re looking for a top-rated restaurant in Los Altos or planning a private event, Cetrella delivers exceptional quality and hospitality. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a five-star dining experience in the heart of Silicon Valley for...

We have been there every week since it opened. Not inexpensive and often we don't have takeout which is very unusual for my wife (although the lamb shank last week has lasted multiple meals) .

I suppose we could have worse addictions. We have managed to control our spending somewhat by ordering bottles of wine - $29 for a very enjoyable Cava Cristalino, $36? for a N.Z. Craggy Ranch Sauvignon Blanc and when we are by ourselves, only one appetizer.

The mussels appetiser is the best we have ever had.

Their creamless corn soup (last week off the menu) and squash bisque (now on) are one of their least inexpensive appetizers ($12?) and very yummy.

My wife thinks the diver scallops are the best she has ever had.

They added duck breast last week and that was the best I have ever had.

I have very mixed emotions about telling people how much we enjoy this restaurant - I like being able to get what I now consider "our table" without...

This place has so much potential. It is at the prime intersection of the affluent Los Altos downtown, spacious interior, and contemporary ambience. Yet it fails to excite and delight in many ways. Essentially the food is confusing, both in the composition of the menu as well as the taste. Not Italian, not Grecian, not Mediterranean... and everything tastes just bland and worn out. I don't think it is the ingredients not being fresh. But something about the spices is out of balance and drapes this hue of neutral, unopinionted taste profile. Lamb meatballs... what were we chewing on? Grecian pizzaa... felt dry and over-olived. Short ribs was absolutely a disappointment where meat pulled off literally had no taste. Top all of this with a relatively inattentive staff. Probably won't be returning. Just not worth the chance when there are so many other fabulous places in Los Altos.

Very good restaurant! Ate here for the 2nd time with the same couple as the 1st time. We both ordered two starters per couple (green salad, ahi tuna cruda, roast eggplant with pumpkin seeds, other seeds and balsalmic reduction, and Queen Corn Bisque (nondairy), and each split an entre - roast salmon for them, Duck Linguine with spinach and badil puree for us, and both were served as split plates, perfectly presented x 2. Hsd a lovelely bottle of Helmehem Pinot, and a chocolate trio for them while I ordered an affrogato with pistachio biscotti to split with my sweetie. Out came two separate already split affrogatos, each with their own biscotti. All told, $203 for 4 people, great service and very tasty food (had the seared foie gras last time, and it was great!).
