
Needed to update I decided that I could no longer give 24 hour a chance. For two weeks I've found a new gym and regret paying for a year for 24 hour locations. At this location the trashcans are always filled even if you come early, no one cleaning before it opens. It's the same level of grossness. I even got sick for two weeks after coming to this location. And this experience below was the end for me after being sick. I came in and noticed on one side of the gym there was no cleaning solution in the bottles. And one of the bottles was broken. Then I tried to work out and two of the stair master machines were broken or wouldn't work properly. I had wasted half my workout time trying to just make sure the place is sanitary and looking for a functional machine. Then I start working out on the other side paper towels were not there and on the other side of the wall the paper towel machine was broken so we couldn't get any. Please note I was also in early ie 530a and all of the trashcans were filled to the point that clearly we know it wasn't cleaned that morning or night after closing. I'm absolutely over it. I have not been in a gym this disgusting and tried to make do because I had paid for the year but honestly I need a refund for the months I clearly am not going to use cause of the filth. This is unacceptable for a brand. I went and looked for a clean gym before I went to work the morning I was tired of this location and found two extremely clean gyms nearby. In this day and age I don't understand how you don't want your gym to be clean for your customers. The guy upfront is very nice and hospitable but this location needs to actually hire people to clean this place properly. I sent an email and no one responded so this is me sharing so others won't make the same mistake I did and pay a year. Too many locations without cleaning standards. The Long Beach location is even grosser. I see why everyone says it's dirty. It is. I have originally been going to the NOHO location which is super clean. So much so you see someone cleaning while you work out. But this location is dirty. Dust and dirt and trash collect on the sides of the gym besides equipment. You walk up the steps they look as if they haven't been cleaned in months. I only come here cause I paid for a year while i'm here for work. But if I checked this spot before coming I would have never paid for 24 hour up front. Clearly not all locations are equal. They need to pay a crew to clean over night and also make sure all their spray bottles and towel papers are filled so it ensures that people can clean if they are not willing to pay a staff to clean properly. Read moreGym is great but here is my zero stars experience with their billing and customer service department: Recently I added 2 of my friends under my account and while they provided their billing info so both of them will be charged on their card while me and wife on our current card on our account. It was agreed and totally fine by sale representative. The next month all of our 4 memberships were charged from my friends account which I felt very uncomfortable with and had to pay them back in cash. My friend contacted the billing explains the issue, they said no problem you can do that but we will need the owner of the account credit card again just to confirm that he agrees to that. So, the next day I called to provide my info and couldn’t read my c.c. since I was driving. I asked the representative over the phone if I can just do that at the front desk at the gym when I go there and he said sure no problem. Today I stopped by at the front desk, I explained my story, the lady at the front (assistant manager) told me that I can’t do that and all of our 4 memberships needs to be charged from one card (no matter who’s) according to they memberships policy. I told her that earlier we spoke with 2 different people who said we can do that. Long story short, we ended up canceling their 2 accounts. After that I called the billing again just to understand whose lack of knowledge is here, he told me over the phone that I can do that and split the payments but I will still be responsible for them so in case if they miss a payment the owner of the account will have to cover it - which is totally fine with but again, the lady at the front never explained that to me!! So I spoke with 4 different people at 24 hour fitness with 3 different opinions ... is that normal? You just lost 2 customers...sadly, because we liked the gym. My wallet has my phone number taped to it, but staff didn't bother to call the number.
I could've easily been identified as a member by my ID, but staff didn't bother to try to help.
I lost my wallet on Tuesday. I went back and asked, but no one had turned it in yet.
I was leaving the gym on Thursday, and I again asked on the way out if anyone had turned in a wallet. The rep opened a drawer directly in front of them, and there it was.
I had to take a personal day at work on Wednesday to look for my wallet, and cancel all my cards.
The DMV "replace my license" feature on their website wasn't recognizing me, so I had to spend hours at the DMV first thing Thursday to order my replacement--just before heading to the gym.
The last time I lost my wallet years ago, someone drove many miles to the address on my drivers license just to return it. I was so grateful, and I wished they had just had my phone number to call. So I then decided to tape my phone number on my wallet, in case my wallet was ever lost and found again.
Almost all my Yelp & Google reviews are 5 stars. I even complimented the manager at the DMV today, because everyone was so efficient and professional.
