I cannot thank this school more. I recommend this school both for interested future students and for clients looking to get their hair done a place they can trust. The staff at Academy for Salon Professionals take a genuine interest in each and every student and help them achieve their ultimate success. My experience at the academy was a little unique as I had lost my father while attending. The school exceeded expectations and went above the "call of duty" in their overflowing amount of support they extended to me. When I had taken my stateboard exam I saw that I was way more prepared than I had ever imagined, and felt the whole test was a breeze thanks to Miss Kim's amazing way of preparing us. I landed a job before I had even graduated and during my months I spent assisting, I could tell the fundamentals I learned from instructor Kat gave me so much confidence in what I was doing already. Even GETTING the job was thanks to the school as they not only tell you about salons hiring, but spend a great deal of time preparing you for what its like to assist and how to prepare for your interview and even dive into what it would take to open your own business one day. I am currrently a designrer stylist at Ulta Salon and have hit my personal commission goals consistently already which is a testament to the experience and education I received regarding building our clientele and retaining them. The fact that I was able to graduate on time and get working immediately even though I had missed a great deal of school due to my fathers passing is all thanks to the many ways Jill allows the students to make up time and catch up on our journey, and Danielle's assistance in calculating those goals for you so you can stay on top of things. I received so much support in my career while I attended and still to this day have kept their interest in my happiness and success months after already graduating. My advice to students thinking of attending is to stay focused and not let the every day stresses of going to school get to you, appreciate the overflowing positivity you are gaining from these women and try to enjoy it because you will leave more prepared and confident than your peers graduating from other institutions. I am forever grateful for my education and the beautiful personalities and hearts of these intelligent caring stylists...

COSMO ALUMNI CHECKIN!!! Where do I even begin.. My journey starting the academy was a personal battle, I started my cosmo education completely over coming from another academy. I came in with little to no expectations due to my prior educational environment, my mindset QUICKLY changed. My phase 1 & 2 instructors Ms. Morgan & Mr. Alex not only introduced me to new techniques, elevated my skills, but poured into me DAILY!!!! I wouldn't have been able to complete my program & get my license had it not been for Ms.Morgan, Mr.Alex, Ms.Brooke (Esthie Educator), Danielle, & the Front Desk ladies; I would walk into Danielle's fish bowl office lol crying my eyes out (for personal reasons), she would talk me off the ledge at least once a month, no exaggeration!!! She not only was helpful in the financial department but she was loving & very respectful! My AFSP family valued and supported me through every single obstacle that was thrown my way. From them putting in extra time on the weekends for students to make up hours to them respecting students with younger children. My experience was truly a blessing. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. To say they went over and beyond with be a understatement, I was able to graduate with my class on time, I clocked out the same week as my classmates, and I passed stateboard on my 1st try, 2 weeks after clocking out, mind you I was able to accomplish all of that recovering from a fires & a 2 week LOA! The proof is in the pudding, you will not be able to find another Academy like AFSP and this is coming from someone who is not easily moved & over analyze everything & everyone. Every Academy has room for improvement but what I can say is ASFP gives opportunity for us to advocate for ourselves and hear our questions/concerns and act on them with urgency. They truly care for each and every single student without a doubt. I will always sing their praise, I wouldn't be me...

I just finished the cosmetology program at The Academy and I TRULY could not have asked for a better cosmetology school experience, environment, instructors, admin and even my peers. This school not only teaches you the skills you need to succeed, on your state board and with clients, but how to act in a salon environment and how to become confident in yourself and the work you put into clients. Ms Morgan was an amazing instructor who helped me jump right into the thick of it. Her patience and dedication to her students is something matched only by Mr Alex. Who prepped us for taking clients and finding solutions for whatever problem we may encounter. His charisma and easy going attitude really made me feel safe to challenge myself because i knew he would be there to guide me! All of the instructors are so caring and made me feel safe and comfortable to express myself, show up and give my best 100% of the time. I feel confident in my abilities and knowledge that the Academy imparted on me and i know I’m going to succeed. i feel so lucky to have come to this school and i highly, HIGHLY recommend you take a tour and enroll if you’re interested in Cosmetology or Esthetics! Danielle is amazing and will help you and answer any questions you may have about school and what to expect.
