Such a horrible experience tonight, the front desk staff named Victoria(@ Northridge) who has a deep voice and wears glasses, was extremely disrespectful and rude, she came into the shower room and started yelling at me that they were closed, and it was only 11:50, and that I need to get out now! She literally said it that way! I told her I'm not dressed and am rinsing off, she continued to yell even louder this time at me and say your not supposed to be in here this late it's against the rules, I told her it's not midnight yet, what do you want me to come out naked? we pay your paycheck and pay to use the equipment here, and it's so awful the way your treating a customer like this I told her in a calm voice, and that I've never been treated like this in my life at a business before, her tone and the fact that she was yelling at me like a drill Sargent got my heart racing I felt really disrespected and even threatened like she might pull back the curtain and pull me or something, my heart was racing and I had to calm down for a second so I couldn't even finish getting dressed to make it out in time, she then comes back again and yells to get out it's midnight and the cleaning ladies have been wanting to clean! And threatened me that she was going to remove my membership cause I'm there at 12, I told her I would have been out by now but you got me so worked up by yelling at me like this and being rude and making me feel threatened that I needed a second to calm myself down. As I was walking out, she walked me out and told me the cleaning staff (which they shouldn't be cleaning and using chemical fumes in the shower anyways during business hours when ppl can shower), said you were being rude to them and they needed to clean the showers. I told her never once was I rude at all they only asked me what time I'd be done I said I'd be out by 12, that was it, and the rest they spoke in Spanish that I couldn't understand and it didn't seem as if they were talking to me but to eachother. She then told me I was a liar and that she believed the staff, provoking me by insulting and belittling my character, which was embarrassing to have that kind of wrong projection as a grown woman be cast on me by her in front of others!!! I really feel that she was on a super high horse and I was being racially discriminated against Like I was shocked, how do you speak to customers like this and in front of staff and other gym members at that, I've worked in customer service for over 20 years and I'd never do this at a company that I worked for, it's a business not a street market or her house where you can yell at and talk to ppl any kind of way! I don't understand how this kind of treatment is even allowed there!!! it's so unprofessional, she was even yelling at me in front of other club members who were walking out, which was again so embarrassing saying you can't be in the shower 10 minutes before close. She made me feel so disrespected, threatened and belittled. I really hope the owner or management sees this and talks to her about not treating customers like this, it's not right at all and is a form of harassment. And I'm not the only one there's another review a few down below me from about a month ago where another customer is talking about the same kind of awful and rude treatment. Ppl don't like this and it needs to change, if it's actually 12 then ok come say we're closed nicely, but going around doing all the above before it's even closed definitely...
Read moreI just had a really bad experience today. I went in today wanting to give this new gym a try and tour and gave them my info. Told them I was moving close and wanted a new gym since my old one didn’t really keep their bathrooms clean. At first when I came in, it all seemed very nice, new equipments, good AC, nice atmosphere overall. However after talking to the front desk (they were really nice btw), they kept me waiting for 40 min just for a gym tour. At that point I just wanted to go in and workout and tour it for myself, but they told me they only had one salesperson to do so. When it was finally my turn, Hector, the salesperson, before even giving me a tour and explaining the gym to me, he already tried to sell me a day pass. Saying that I’m not from the area and they don’t give out free passes anymore. Mind you, I have not even been given a tour yet. His attitude was extremely rude and not professional at all. You do not hit your customer with “sorry but in order to use the gym you gotta buy a $40 day pass” when they didn’t even show the gym amenities yet. So I told him that this would drive not only me, but other customers away as well and said that I would not be signing up or working out at that gym at all but still wanted a tour since I was kept waiting for 45 min at that point. But since Hector didn’t wanna do his job, he asked me to wait and called in his manager. His manager came, talked to me, offered me a “courtesy day pass”. Mind you, people can sign up online for a 7 day free trial pass. And showed me around the gym and apologized for his employer’s behavior. The gym is nice, the management definitely needs more training regarding how to treat your customers and improve your selling tactics because what Hector did, was definitely not it. Do better. P.S: the girls who Hector helped (one before helping me, one after) all got into the gym for the free pass and yet he tried to sell me the day pass 🤡. Gold’s gym, train your employees to be professional please. Negative reviews like this will only hurt your business and drive other potential customers away. Hope this helps out future customers and potential future...
Read moreI've been a 24 hour fitness member for over 10 years but wanted a change of scenery because the one in Northridge is abysmal. This gym is just conveniently located across the street and far exceeded my expectations.
I've been to several gyms throughout SoCal, Vegas, and Phoenix, and found that this was definitely comparable to the nicer gyms I have been to.
There are 6 squat racks on the right side of the gym but it's interesting because the barbells are by Escape, but they have a hammer strength rack, and American fitness plates. Lol. There are also 8 more squat racks in the back of the gym!!! So... there is plenty of equipment.
They have a variety of machines here owned by booty builder which I had never heard of before but easily got the hang of once I finally located the instructions per machine. I had never in my life done a standing hip abductor but it seemed fun and definitely felt more helpful than the seated ones. They have one seated hip thrust that's so difficult to work with and 2 standing hip thrust machines that... don't really seem helpful, but they're there.
For the rest of the gym, a couple things I also liked: spa recovery room with 4 massage chairs and TVs separate fitness room for platinum members TRX section and turf area boxing area with punching bags very clean bathrooms with steam and sauna rooms already inside (so they're same sex if that matters to you) self-running Assault treadmills (my fave treadmills) ski machines filtered water stations
Now even though I visited around 4 PM on a Sunday, I imagine it was pretty busy because it's January so people are kickstarting their fitness regimen. Only time will tell how it holds up during peak hours but so far, I have no complaints and look forward to my future visits...
