Honestly, I hate to put this hotel on blast, but it is hands-down the worst hotel visit of all time for me. I really wanted to give it one star, but considering I never reported my issues to anyone, I decided to go against my original judgment and give this hotel two stars instead of one — all for the sake of fairness to the staff. If I had reported my problems, I think they would have attempted to resolve; however, I simply did not report out of fear of making everything worse.||||I checked into the hotel late, and I was greeted by a nice staff member. While working with me, he had to stop and help another man, who was reporting some riff raff, shady loiterer in the parking lot. Apparently, the loiterer was so suspect that the hotel patron chose to sleep in his car rather than in the hotel. He did not want his stuff stolen. The employee then tells me that I am welcome to call him “if I see anything that makes me uncomfortable,” because he also doubles up as security. Cue the anxiety, am I right? So — I get into the room, and I am super paranoid. That is when I pulled up TripAdvisor, and I saw all of the other terrible reviews. I started to panic at the reviews’ mentions of how dirty the beds + hotel was, so I opted to sleep in yoga pants, socks, and a long sleeved shirt. I took an extra shirt I had and put it over the pillows (like you would dress a child), and I slept on top of my shirt. All I could think was that the sheets were dirty. Oh, they were also paper-thin, which may just be to combat California heat. That being said — I live in equally as hot Louisiana, and we have much thicker sheets. I was comfortable sleeping on the bed this way, and once I went to sleep, I was not interrupted + slept comfortably.||||I woke up + thought that I was being super dramatic about everything, and I felt really bad for being a brat about the conditions. I called my husband + told him I panicked for no reason + that all was well.||||I got dressed + tried to watch television. The volume on the tv was garbage, and it was inaudible at the highest volume setting. I decided that tv was not necessary, so I watch shows on my phone.||||All is well. I leave for the day, and I come back again late at night. The same man is working, and he asked which room I was going — my guess as a security measure. I told him + kept walking... and walking quickly. I get into the world’s slowest + shadiest elevator (did I mention the shady elevator?), and I get to my floor. Doors open, and I am greeted by what smells like rancid fecal matter. The smell haunts me all the way through the hall to my door, which is very, very far from what I deem to be the originating site of smell. I pray to the sweet Father above that the smell is not inside my room, and praise be His name — it wasn’t. I latched all the doors + blasted the air, just in case the smell tried to enter my safe place. I dress back up in my long sleeved sweater, yoga pants, socks, etc, and I bravely slept in the bed.||||I stayed a total of three nights, and I was very much ready to leave. I know I will be back in the area one day, and I know where I will not be staying.||||Other items to help you when making your reservation:||||PROS||•Nice Iron + Ironing Board||•Nice Staff who Wants to Protect You at All Costs||•Multiple Lighting Options for When You Are Scared||•Grab-and-Go Breakfast Snacks||•Located Extremely Close to In-N-Out Burger and Chick-Fil-A||||CONS||•Everything I Mentioned Previously||•Paper-thin Walls + Floors||•Food Left in Hallways for Hours on End||||So — do your homework before booking, my friends. Read moreI had an awful experience here. The hallways smelled strongly like marijuana. My room was not fully cleaned; a sticky note from the previous guest was on the table, a used washcloth was crumpled by the sink, the handsoap had been opened and used, and there was a knife in the drying rack by the sink. The sheets were not soft. I could hear my neighbor coughing and a train throughout the night. There was no "Do not disturb" sign for the door and I really wish there had been because I got badly disturbed several times. Around 10:35 PM, someone repeatedly tried their room key on my door and jiggled the handle. After a while, they seemed to give up, so I didn't bother getting out of bed to shoo them. However, they came back a few minutes later and I got up to go tell them they had the wrong room, but they were gone when I got to the door. Then, at 10:45, a hotel employee banged very loudly on my door. He said he was there to fix the card reader. I told him that it was just myself and my husband and that nobody else should be allowed access to our room. He didn't seem to understand. I yelled for him to just leave us alone and he said he'd call from the front desk. I called the desk since he didn't call us and asked why the heck people were trying to enter my room. He said he'd come up to verify my identity or something, which is not what he'd said before. I told him that the only two occupants were in the room and trying to sleep. He didn't even apologize for banging on the door late at night. The fire alarm went off at 5:15 AM, but stopped after about 30 seconds. Apparently it "just does that" and it had happened before. That is not acceptable. When I went to leave in the morning, the elevator had stopped working. I had to carry my stuff down from the third floor. That was the icing on the cake of a very, very unpleasant stay. If you have the choice to stay anywhere else, I highly recommend doing that. I would never...
