Arroyo Records — Local services in Los Angeles

I bought a record here when visiting the area. The record looked clean with no visible scratches or damage with a sleeve in good condition. The record was priced higher than average but I bought it because it was one of my favorite records and looked to be in good condition. When I got home I realized that the record inside wasn't even the record that goes with that sleeve, but another from the same band. I unfortunately didn't think to read the track list before buying because I just assumed they wouldn't mix up the albums. Worse yet, the record barely even plays with extreme amounts of static. Out of hundreds of records that I own, the condition of this one is one of the worst despite appearing in good condition. Be very careful buying records here. Examine them closely to make sure nothing is wrong before buying and remember the record may not play correctly when you take it home. If you live out of the area like me and are not close enough to go back to make a return, it is probably best to skip this store.

Edit: And check out the classy reply from the owner. After scamming me, he replies saying I’m lying and making a fake account, as if someone would make an account just to give a bad review for no reason. I wish I could go back to the store to demand a refund but with today’s gas prices, it doesn’t make sense to spend $40 in gas (plus a several hours) to drive back to get a refund of $15. He clearly didn’t “play every record and make sure everything is correct” when the record inside doesn’t even match the sleeve. The reason for the “long-winded” review is so others will understand the risk of buying...

Happy three years Arroyo! This is one of my favorite record stores in LA with plenty of street parking- it’s the perfect sized store with tons of new and used 12s and 7s coming in daily - all genres! Used records are fairly graded and priced, neatly organized (alphabetically within each letter in the stacks) and there’s a listening station to preview. Owner Danny and crew are super sweet, accommodating of diggers that spend several hours in the store and always ready with solid recommendations - don’t forget to browse the staff picks! Did i mention it’s dog friendly? I can’t think of any complaints at all, A++++ record store...

Went with my husband many times to your store, but the last couple of times we got a really bad attitude from the staff. They kept staring at us and asked us to move our records to the other side of the store, like we were disturbing the other shoppers. It seems like you have never shopped for records before, as people get in each others way and an "excuse me" still works. Can anybody record shop in peace any more? Definitely lost a couple...
