Love Shorthand. This shop has so many colors and styles of writing utensils and notebooks it’s almost impossible to leave without buying something. But that something is so much more unique and cool than any pen or pencil you’ve bought before. And unique and cool enough to please even the pickiest of writers. I’ve gotten gifts for the Lilly Pulitzer-loving journal writer, the minimalist doodling fiction writer, and everyone in between. And the people that work there really know what they’re doing: I bought mechanical pencil there a few years ago for a gift, and the receiver of the gift started ONLY using that pencil. At Shorthand, you will find more analogue and drafting tools with a better selection of graphite and paper materials. Nevertheless, the shop is still fun and tactile with plenty of spirit as everything is color coordinated rather than grouped in subjects! I first visited 'Shorthand,' Stationary Store in Highland Park, LA., CA. was for attending the Stationary Crawl Event LA was hosting this August/4/2025 weekend. I liked the paper bag design this store provides at end of a purchase. it was easy parking behind the shop within a parking lot of metered parking.
