Carroll Ave — Local services in Los Angeles

Carroll Ave is a historical landmark street famous for having the largest concentration of Victorian-era homes in the city, and the highest concentration of Eastlake and Queen Anne residences in Southern California. A dozen or so of the houses appear on the historic sites register. Located just a mile from downtown, Carroll Avenue also features a few homes that have been featured on television and music videos, including the Charmed house and the abode shown in Michael Jackson's “Thriller” video. Who would believe that there would be a street of beautiful Victorian homes right across from the skyscrapers of a cosmopolitan city? San Francisco, yes, LA no. Carroll Avenue looks like something out of Disneyland or a movie set, but it is a real street with real people living on it. I heard that Michael Jackson filmed “Thriller” there. FANTASTIC street lined with Victorian style homes, that are immaculately maintained. It is like walking back in time to a much different place and time. A lot of attention to detail, each home has its own character and style. Many of the homes have been renovated or are in process of restoration.

It is a splendid opportunity to get outside during COVID on a nice day. There is ample parking on Carroll Avenue ad surrounding streets, not crowded and no worries running into social distancing issues. Architect and history lovers will fall in love with the character and styles...
