Went here on a first date Sunday night, as per my date's recommendation. Admittedly, I rarely find myself this far up Sunset and was a bit skeptical such a place even existed. However, after some minutes of uncertainty I came upon a green neon sign which burned brightly through the still summer night-- "HENRY" -- written vertically the side of the building. Upon opening the entrance door, I felt like I was being transported into a Murakami novel. Beautiful wooden bar, psychedelic folk/rock music playing on a warm hi-fi stereo, black and white photographs of jazz musicians adorn the walls, particularly a charming one of Saint Monk. We sat at the bar. The bartender was nice, and left us to fumble for stilted conversation a couple hours. Just kidding. The date went well. Will there be a second date? The future is unwritten, and fate answers to no man/woman/them/etc. But forbidding some teriffic act of god, I will return...

Welp, a different friend was trying to meet up to sort out some stuff they have been going through and asked for a place to go too which I promptly suggested Bar Henry; lucky for me it is 10 mins down the road and apparently must be cool since I've been consistently invited there over & over. Inside is quaint and cute with the right among of lights that don't make it so "speakeasy-ish" and a wide open kinda space to it with a small bar seating not to mention outdoor seats as well so you can mix it up. Cocktail menu is short & sweet with some of the classics in the lineup and all of the drinks I tried, I would order again. Great spot for a date, have a nice nightcap or to catch up with friends going through whatever they are going...

It isn't a very big place and I can imagine getting a drink on a busy night would be pretty difficult. The seats around are lit by candles, very romantic for a date. I didn't try a variety of drinks since I really liked the one I had first, which was the Mahoney. The prices seem to be about average for a place like this.
Parking: I took the bus from work to get there which isn't far from my job but there is plenty of parking across the street, it is on a main street. Bathroom: Unfortunately it is a one stall/toilet bathroom, room for 1.
Overall I had a nice experience and would...
