I was looking forward to finally try this salon. I had been going to another stylist regularly but couldn’t get in on short notice so I figured it was time to well- what a mistake.

Salon: clean and spacious. Service was friendly.

Haircut: a good test of a good stylist is for them to look at your face, ask some questions re lifestyle and style preferences, and see what recommendations they have. My stylist, whom has been highly reviewed here, had some great ideas. I literally let her do what she wanted- cut as much as you want, etc.

During the cut, I was looking down at my phone catching up on emails and was shocked to be done in 15 minutes. When I saw the hair cut, it looked cute, shorter, and overall it was fine. It was slightly styled so it looked good; I didn’t examine it in detail. I paid and left.

Then I got home, and brushed out the waves and noticed some bug chunks that were completely missed. Right in the front too! I was dismayed. No wonder the cut was so fast. They made the fasted $100+tip for the least amount of work of all time. Congrats. I had to fix my own hair and will never go back.

A good hair salon should be judged on consistency to deliver quality cuts. Stylists don’t need to be the most imaginative… but get the basics right. I waited a while to write this to see if I’d still feel this way months later and considering I’m still finding random chunky strands in my hair and trimming it myself- clearly I feel like I’ve been ripped...

I've been going to Etude for a few years now. I haven't had a negative experience here so far. In the past several months due to COVID, I haven't been able to get to a hair salon or barber. I found out that Etude was reopening with plenty of safety measures and limited capacities. So I strapped on a mask and decided to give it a shot.

I normally don't ask for a particular stylist, but I lucked out when I was assigned Isabel. She was very courteous, polite, and professional. She paid lots of attention to minute details about my hair and made some great suggestions. She checked in with me often to make sure I was okay with my cut and she always offered great styling suggestions. Not only was I happy with my cut, I left with a pleasant experience in my mind. She noticed that my scalp was a bit sensitive and she offered to give me a scalp treatment the next time I came around.

I come back a month later, and along with the awesome haircut, she offers me the scalp treatment. I have to say, it's not my first time getting a scalp treatment, but it never fails to put a smile on my face. It feels very relaxing and the product leaves a tingly, minty feeling that is so soothing. On top of that, she gives a great scalp massage. It almost put me to sleep. All in all, I haven't been disappointed by my experience at Etude and I'm glad to have stumbled upon such a great stylist in Isabel.
