Quick Summary Meal quality is solid (recommend the pork jowl, pork belly and short rib (marinated or unmarinated)). It's not AYCE and the servers cook for you. My only gripe is the parking but it's expected from Ktown (they have a free lot offered on the corner of Olympic and Hoover where you park on the grass, but they close at 10:30pm so we had to move the car while we finished our late night meal)
Food- 5 stars Very good meat quality. The short ribs were so tender and juicy (it's one of the few places where I preferred marinated, as it wasn't too overly sweet and provided plenty of flavor). The pork was especially good as it was tender and very fatty.
Service- 4 stars The servers are attentive, but it appeared like they were short-handed. With fewer employees there, there were occasions when he had to cook our own meat at times.
Parking The parking was a pain which is expected on a weekend night. Street parking is basically non-existent unless you're willing to walk several blocks. There's fewer than 5 spots in their parking lot. They didn't have valet either. There is a free lot offered on the corner of Olympic and Hoover which was only a 3 minute walk, but may need to move the car if you show up towards closing.
Bottom Line Very enjoyable experience with solid meat quality and many different side dishes. Parking can be a bit pain if you come late on a weekend night, but otherwise, one of the better Korean BBQ...
Read moreYangmani has been my and also all my friend’s favorite kbbq spot and I was so excited when they finally opened their new location. But I was very disappointed on my first visit at the new location. I miss their old grill the mesh grill gets all the meat stuck on the grill :( The server dropped our steak on the table and literally just picked up and put them on the grill (like we wouldn’t even know if the server took the steak back to the kitchen and brought back the exact same steak :P) but nope, didn’t even put that effort :( it was an important dinner meeting and the server did that in front of our faces and we all were like 😐😬🙄😦 … The main thought after that dinner was “I really miss old yangmani…” me and my friends used to drive out to LA from OC just to go eat at yangmani, but after visiting their new location I don’t think I would drive all the way out to ktown yangmani anymore. So sad to lose my all time favorite kbbq spot like this. ...
Read moreThis is easily the worst Korean BBQ I’ve ever had. My family and I are in LA for a night for the very first time and we were excited to try LA Korean food for the very first time after years of hearing amazing things about it. We could not have had a worse experience. Every single kind of meat we ordered tasted significantly worse than conventional supermarket options. Incredibly, the service was somehow worse than the food was. Our server burned half our food despite the restaurant not being busy at all. It took unbelievably long to get anyone’s attention and our party of 7 was literally just left standing there like idiots until I had to yell for someone’s attention. This was honestly so awful in every perceivable way and the fact that they had a minimum order of FOUR dishes and we had to drop 250 dollars on this garbage has left me completely and utterly speechless. I feel robbed. I’ve never felt so strongly about a dining...
