Angel Maid Bakery — Restaurant in Los Angeles

As a local to Angel Maid Bakery, living a couple blocks down, this place has always been a staple to our family. A reliable bakery with friendly workers who are attentive to their customers.

From their strawberry shortcake, mocha chiffon, tres leches, and chocolate dobash cake…You can’t go wrong with either. The cake itself is always moist, never had a bad instance of dry cake, as for their custard and whip cream it has always been executed nicely where it doesn’t come out to be overpoweringly sweet nor bland. The bakery utilizes fresh ingredients and fruits, which can be reflected by other reviewers cake photos.

As of lately, this bakery has been receiving recognition from the foodie community, which is well deserved. The price for their cakes, let alone the quality and great customer service, is astounding. This place is definitely a sleeper, a must try if you haven’t.

Lastly, if you’re reading up to this point, here’s a few crumbs. There’s only about 3 parking spots offered, to make it easier park on the residential sides or on centinela. If it’s your first time trying Angel Maid, try their tres leches, chocolate dobash, or strawberry shortcake. Slices are available along with other bakes goods but keep in mind that they do sell out by closing time. Enjoy.

Terrible customer service. I ordered and picked up my wife's birthday cake here for her birthday party later that evening. During the party after she cut the cake, she pointed out that there was hair inside the cake. I was embarrassed and was surprised since this place had great reviews but luckily my wife was good sport about it and still had some cake for my sake but some of our guests were grossed out by it and didn't touch it. I'd say at least half the cake didn't get eaten and was thrown out at the end of the day by the venue. I had sent an email to the bakery with these photos next day and all they said was not sure what happened and asked us to bring the cake back. I explained how the remaining cake after discovering the hair was not consumed and thrown out and they said there's nothing they can do if we don't bring it back. Such terrible customer service for what is clearly their error - if you look at the picture closely the hair is half inside the cake. Suffice to say, we or our guests won't be going back to this bakery. If you buy a cake here and find a hair in it, make sure to leave the cake as is...

Amazing service and delicious pastries. I ordered a cake for my mother's birthday which they were able to do the day prior. They were able to do writing in spanish as well for those who need spanish writing on cakes. The lady I spoke to when I made the cake order was very kind. Upon arriving there wasn't too much of a line only two other parties. They were able to attend me right after a person left the bakery. The space is fairly limited but they do a great job at keeping things safe. Everything is clear with prices and they also have these two jars with dirty and clean pens which is very thoughtful during these times. I will definitely be back to order more cakes.
