LAX Economy Parking — Local services in Los Angeles

Tried economy parking for the first time and I’m glad to report back the whole experience is not as difficult as I thought it might be. If you are reading this review to see if this one is better than the budget lot. I would say yes this would be better because the budget shuttle pick up is very slow even the economy bus drivers themselves said that they have to keep telling people who are waiting for the budget shuttle to wait for a hour or so because they can’t even predict how long would it take for them to circle back and pick up budget lot customers. Maybe they were managed by different companies or teams. For reference: Early 7am flight, I waited 30 mins for the economy bus. Returning was at 10pm I waited at LAX about 10 mins for the bus.

Pro: #1:well lit parking lot (dead quite at 4:30am but still feel safe) #2:Easy entry and exit （it recognizes your license plate so in normal situation it will let you through you don’t need to do anything. It works well for me, but scan the code they provided if it doesn’t work don’t panic：） #3: shuttle direction signs are somewhat easy to follow (Okay this one is debatable since I’m very bad at direction. There were signs indicating direction but I feel like the lot is quite big and have different levels, it could be a bit confusing for first timer. So my suggestion would be just walk toward the street/stair side on the first floor. They have a big pink banner so you won’t miss it. That’s also the same bus that would take you from lax back to the lot)

Con: #1 parking space indicator light doesn’t work (Like many review mentioned most of those lights don’t work and when you book the parking they didn’t mention the first floor is basically all for electric vehicles only so my suggestion would be come at least one hour early and go straight to 2nd floor or above to find parking spot if you have a regular car)

#2 Not cheap I saw a discount code the day before the trip so I saved some money or else it would cost me over $100 to park 3 days. Go sign up lax parking emails they occasionally send out promote code. This is literally the best travel heck i learned from the internet! ( if you see this review before 24th you can still use the discount code from the photos I posted)

#3 Not the best customer service I arrived at the shuttle stop around 5am and the driver saw me but he was on break and chatting with other staff so he didn’t greet or say anything when i waited in front of the bus and wondering if this is the correct bus… I didn’t want to interrupt his break so I waited and only ask when he went up to the bus but then he didn’t really answer my question. When I ask if this is the bus to the terminal he said it’s going to New York… okay I get it he’s probably trying to crack a joke but really as a solo traveler and first timer at a dead parking lot at midnight I wasn’t in a mood for any jokes I just want to know if I m boarding the right bus… anyway this parking lot doesn’t really have any staffs walking around helping people so you are on your own and the drivers might not be the nicest people but it is convenient and somewhat safe.

Some final suggestions: I saw some people in the reviews suggesting to take pictures or video of where you park and your car. And I’m very thankful for that reviews because I almost couldn’t find my car after the trip. It was a big lot and each row goes by a letter and each spot has a number so be sure to remember both letter and number and also the color of the pillar. I couldn’t remember my parking spot because I was dumb I only marked down the number and the floor level. The most important advice would be to plan arrive as early as you can. My flight was at 7am and I entered the lot at 4 am so I gave myself at least extra one hour and I was lucky to make it to the airport around 5:30.

Parked here for a full seven days and had no issues. I believe it is substantially cheaper to reserve/pay for your parking online first than to arrive onsite and pay at exit. Ours came out to be about $99 for 7 days so not bad! We read a couple reviews about cars being broken into so we parked closest to the elevators right under security cameras, and emptied the car. The shuttles each way were fine, nothing to complain about, and the drivers were courteous enough. We had about six pieces of medium to large luggage and were able to fit everything onto the shuttle no problem. They came about every 15 minutes so the wait wasn’t too long, and it takes about 6-8 minutes to get to the terminals. Granted, we came and went during “normal” daytime hours: around 12:00p and 5:00p.

The garage is covered and very new, clean, and well lit. Signage was very clear to understand. Overall good experience for the first time!

Update with tips: Since we’ve done this parking sitch a number of times now, there are a few tips/tricks that could be helpful for those parking here for the first time.

We’ve never had our car broken into, but always remove anything from your car that can be seen as an object of interest.

Take pictures of your car and the surrounding area to remember where you parked and also the condition of your car when you entered. This is an extra precaution if you truly want to be fastidious.

On the LAX parking website, don’t just purchase a couple hours before and after you enter. Check online to see whether they charge the same rate if you extend it to the end of the 24 hour period that you’re buying. For example, if I estimate I’ll get out of the airport by 1am and get to my car by 2am, see how much it would be if you set your exit time to say, 6am. If it doesn’t change your rate then I would just add as much time as possible. One time I thought we’d get done three hours post-flight but unexpected flight delays at the layovers caused us to be pretty late to the garage.

If you’re traveling with a partner or more than one person I suggest people get dropped off with their luggage at the terminal first before parking. Yes you may need to account for a bit more time, BUT you save the hassle of schlepping luggage and in case the shuttles are really behind, you could easily walk to the terminals in about ten minutes.

I signed up for their newsletter (no idea what kind of parking stuff is newsworthy!) but they occasionally give out promo codes in the email. I found this to be true about 2-3 weeks prior to an upcoming holiday. The weekend or week of the holiday had zero discounts so don’t book too late. I have even booked months in advance before and then canceled it without penalty just to shamelessly rebook with a promo code. Saved me 30%!

Sometimes the entrance kiosk reads your license plate, sometimes it doesn’t. Just have your QR code handy in case.

We are very friendly toward the shuttle drivers even if they aren’t particularly warm. We generally come prepared with a few bucks to tip if they if they help with luggage no matter how small. It’s literally backbreaking work to help people with luggage. I know it’s hit or miss with these shuttles but the worst we’ve experienced is a 30 min wait and a no nonsense driver.

Coming back we look for the shuttle at the lower level baggage claim area at the median. The signs should say LAX parking and sometimes you might see employee shuttle parking which looks exactly the same as the economy shuttle going back and forth, so don’t be alarmed if some...

We had a great experience using the "new" LAX economy parking lot. We usually use Quick Park LAX but we will now be using this parking lot for all of our LAX parking needs.

A few reviews talk about the price being $30 a day. That is only if pay when you get there and don't book in advance. We booked it the night before departure and it is significantly cheaper. Our rate turned out to be cheaper than Quick Park LAX by about 50%. We have liked Quick Park, but have had an issue or two with return shuttles. We decided with the cost savings to try something new and are happy we did.

Make sure to enter your license plate number of the car you will be parking with and when you arrive at the parking facility the gates will automatically open for you. Same is true when you leave. No need for a ticket, keeping it safe and finding a parking facility to pay for the ticket when you get back. Only thing you need to do is keep the email confirmation handy with the bar code scanner in case the exit reader can't read your license plate. There was a gate attendant there if anyone had any problems.

The facility is well lit, clean, and uses all of the modern technology for parking facilities now. We found the spaces wider than other facilities. Our car was significantly cleaner after a week in this parking facility than other competing facilities we have used as well. The buses were on time and efficient both there and back.

We did have to wear a mask on the bus both to and from LAX so make sure you bring one with you.

On your return back to the parking facility, finding the shuttle is very easy. They are located in the arrival level of the airport next to clearly colored columns. We walked off and a shuttle was already there waiting. We found this experience much easier to navigate than having to go back upstairs and find the right shuttle then move quickly to where the shuttle can find a place to stop. I can only imagine how much easier this will be too once they complete the light rail trail connection to the parking facility. I am not usually a fan of LAX, but this is a great improvement and with other modernization projects in the works may change my opinion of...
