The front desk personnel was rude and unprofessional. First without asking she told us twice: No dogs allowed in this hotel. I calmly told her: she is not a pet dog, she is a service animal. Then she asked my name like five times and I spelled it and she could not find the reservation. After giving confirmation number she finally found it. After that she looked at my ID and asked if there was a typo in my name, 🤯 ?! It’s my DL - of course it’s correct… The lobby smelled like burnt pizza when we arrived and the smell didn’t change when we left. I barely slept in the room. There was weird loud noise from somewhere like laundry tumbler all night and then some other buzzing noise. My daughter woke up in the night too and thought that the alarm went off. I needed to have AirPods in my ears to cancel the noise and played soft sleep music. 😩 Next, the room had no hand soap - only hand lotion! There was a huge bleach stain on the flooring too. We used ambassor level points and typically the hotel treat us with their best rooms and views and in the better hotels upgrade to the suites for recongization to loyal customers. If this was their best, how are the other rooms? There is no hot tub or pool to relax, no patio. No restaurants at the walking distance. I had planned to relax in the hotel and eat at the hotel, but after the smell in the bistro not interested in eating there. We took Lyft to Manhattan Beach, which was a great decision. The shuttle bus to the airport: the reason I booked The hotel was that we had early 8 am flight and wanted to avoid LA traffic and this hotel said they have a shuttle. Well, they have no time table, the bus comes and goes every 20-30 min and no guarantee to get the space. It stops at every terminal from 1-7 (SW, AA, Delta, International, United. So he prepared to wake up early anyway. I don’t like doing bad reviews, but this hotel deserves it.

We stayed in this hotel overnight with my friend, as we needed to get on the plane in the morning. We checked in early, check-in was quick and efficient. Then we dropped our bags, and headed to LA for the day.

There was little fridge in the room - which I always appreciate, and there was a convenience shop in the lobby. Worked perfect for us, as we were getting back to the hotel pretty late, and didn't feel like searching around for the food. So we got some yogurts, juice and sandwiches in the lobby shop. There was coffee machine in the room, which was also very helpful. The room was very clean and spacious, the beds were comfortable. There was free WiFi for Marriott members.

There is a free shuttle from the airport, running every 15 minutes. It gets busy on the shuttle, as it serves two hotels - Marriott and the Courtyard. And the Courtyard is the last one on the shuttle route. Luckily we were able to get to the shuttle, whenever we needed, as it was almost full every time we used it.

We had a little issue, which could have caused a big problem for me. But most of what happened was totally my own fault, and the hotel was incredible helping me to solve this issue.

Before we left the hotel after check-in, I wanted to put my passport away - so I would not carry it with me. Usually I use safe box for that, and there was safe box in the room closet, but it was locked. I called the front desk, they told they would send the maintenance. But it took a while, nobody was coming, and we didn't have very much time left on this day. So we left hoping the maintenance would come in and fix it without us. I don't think that ever happened, as the safe box still was locked when we were back. But because I didn't put my passport to the usual place, I must have lost the track of it. Though I always check the drawers etc before leaving the hotel room, somehow I forgot my passport in the room somewhere, and realized it while I was already boarding my flight. I called the hotel, they went to the room right away, found my passport, and mailed it back to me. I left the hotel yesterday morning, and today in the morning Fedex has already brought my passport back to me. I was so happy, as I'm going to fly internationally next week, and I needed the passport for that. It was pricey to get it back, but it was stupid of me to forget it - in the first place.

I was extremely impressed with the service and help I got with this issue. Thanks to the...

I booked a room last minute after flying from North Carolina to LAX arriving around 2am. I explained I wanted to pay for the night I was arriving so I wouldn't have to wait until 3pm to check-in. I was quoted a rate and gave my cc number and got my confirmation. I called the hotel to request a shuttle and told I didn't have a room. After back and forth between reservations center and the hotel. I arrive at the hotel. The agent there was the same one over the phone who told me I didn't have a room and instead of seeing how frustrating that was in itself she continued to make a bad situation worse by telling me she did find my reservation but I was only getting a room because someone didn't show up and I would have to take the rate they were charged which was way more than what I was originally booked. Before this was corrected I think it was over 3 nights like a $200 difference. Thats a big deal, but originally I just agreed to take the room, because like what choice did I have. I took a shuttle their with my husband and small children at 3AM. To make matters even worse, opening the room door we were hit with a smell that was just barely tolerable. I think if it wasn't for us being so sleepy I would of much rather took the shuttle back to the airport and got our rental car then and booked another hotel. We had opted out of picking up the rental that night since we were only going to sleep and valet is $36 per night. Anyhow since we supposedly got the last room I figured there was no sense in complaining about it. Everything else went smoothly. The agent the next day was friendly and changed my rate back to what I was originally quoted. The lobby is nice and the location worked great for us. It was convenient to get the rental car and close enough to make visiting Santa Monica beach and Hollywood a breeze. The room seemed clean so it had to be the carpet that left such a nasty smell, it was musty and rotten smelling. I do think you we would have had a nice stay at this hotel if we hadn't had trouble making the reservation and checking in and if our room wasn't stinky. So with that being said, I wouldn't deter others from booking. I just wish this wasn't our experience. It was my kids Spring break trip and the 1st as a family to...

PLEASE be aware of the huge tax hit you’ll get if you book online. I reserved my room for day use while I waited for an evening flight. I was quoted $132. When I got there to pay I was charged $172! That’s a $40 ‘tax’ increase, I was so unprepared for that and felt very blind sided. It’s also extremely expensive for a day use booking. Please also be aware that if you’re getting off an international flight and catching their shuttle, you literally have to jump up and down and wave it down. I had no idea and watched it pass me twice over an hour. I tried calling their number but kept getting transferred to shuttle services that only provided a recorded message. So I thought I must have been standing in the wrong spot and after another hour of running around trying to figure out where I’m supposed to go, or what I was supposed to do, I was told by another shuttle company I had to wave them down. All up It took me 2 hours to finally catch one. It’s the grey Wally Express bus you need to look for. This would all be very helpful information to know when you’re booking in, especially for people who are getting off such long flights, even for an experienced traveler like myself, it’s still very stressful not understanding all of this when you’re in a foreign country. After reading other reviews since my experience it seems to be an ongoing issue many have been having for over 3 months, the hotel response is apologizing for this experience and that the feedback is valuable and that they’re working on it, but unfortunately the issue still exists and should actually be addressed. As someone who travels a lot and runs a travel business this was one of my hardest experiences getting to a hotel which not only wasted my paid time at the hotel but brought unnecessary stress into my trip. Apart from these two things… the staff were truly amazing and so very helpful. This is the only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 2. The rooms are clean and the location is very close to the airport. I would have given it 5 stars if the pricing was more transparent and I didn’t have to spend 2 hours trying to catch...
