Update (September 2024): Bacon (his shelter name is Rusty) is about 15 years old. Heās been with me for 7 years since adoption. Heās such a smart, adorable, sweet, playful cat. Last three are more recent pictures.
Some people complained about intake fees. This shelter commit to taking care of the cats until they get adopted. The older a cat gets, the harder they get adopted. Iād seen cats who had been here for years, a decade, or even more. The intake fee is nothing compared to the YEARS of care they provide for the cats. The shelter really should be asking for MORE, because food, litter, cleaning, VETS, staff wages, etc etc, these costs add up. People who work at this shelter are true cat lovers. They treat them lovingly. So, those complaining about intake fees proved nothing but they themselves are selfish sociopaths.
Original (2020): This is a great place to adopt a cat. I got my sweet kitty here 3 years ago. Now heās living the best life with me. Donāt hesitate to go there. Pic is a recent...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThese people work very hard to give the cats the best possible shelter life they can. Ideally all cats would be in a loving home, but for those that aren't, places like these are a God send and sadly there's not enough of them. As for the intake prices I don't blame them a bit. Certain colors ans ages are hard to rehome unfortunately. And, It can cost hundreds if not thousands to medically care for one cat in its lifetime. Not to mention food, litter etc. That's the very reason so-called owners abandon them or leave them in the street. The cost and sacrifice many aren't willing to make--especially after the kitten becomes an older cat. It's a commitment that should be taken seriously. For the life of the pet. Not just when it's convenient. These organizations do the best they can. They don't get enough credit, glory or help and are taken for granted by the very people that seek to dump their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came here to look for a cat last March and left with our sweet boy who we renamed Pounce! We love him more than life and he is the same age as the other cat. I love the open, cageless concept of this shelter. The cats looked very happy and the more antisocial ones had plenty of space to themselves. We told one of the employees what we were looking for and found Pounce hiding in a cat tree, the employee was able to tell us about his personality. I was surprised such a sweet, special cat had been there for 5 years! When we decided we wanted to adopt, we had to spend 30 minutes playing with Pounce to make sure he was a proper fit. He brings so much joy to our lives and I am so happy we went to Pet Pride. If anyone plans to visit, call ahead and ask if they need any donations! Itās good to give back to these amazing...
