Pleasantly surprised to learn the former president of Finland, Tarja Halonen resides here. I had no intentions of visiting, but as I was walking by, a guy in a white lab coat called out from behind the fence and asked if I had seen a doctor recently. I thought that was a rather odd question, but I was curious. The man identified himself as Dr. Aborro or something like that (I honestly don’t remember) and asked if I’d like another opinion on “anything, literally anything.” Long story short, I went inside for an “exam” and that’s when I ran into Tarja Halonen. She was eating a muffin and asked who I was and what the hell I was doing there, but not in a rude way. I informed her that the doctor invited me in for an exam. At this point, the doctor bolted! Tarja put down her muffin and chased the doctor down the hall and I presume out of the building. Anyway, I had to use the bathroom, so I found the nearest available restroom and proceeded to relieve myself when some guy wearing what can only be described as a “Mr. Rogers sweater vest” and large glasses opened the door on me mid-urination and exclaimed, “oh geez, not again… so sorry!” Here’s a tip if you visit, LOCK THE RESTROOM DOOR. Anyway, I finished up, exited the restroom. The doctor was nowhere to be found, so I saw myself out. Five stars....
Read moreOne day as I crossed by this building, Tilda Swinton suddenly rushed out and wanted to regale me with a bunch of historical facts about Herbert Hoover, Millard Fillmore, and Rutherford B. Hayes. Who knew Tilda was such an obscure history buff! Perhaps she needed some assistance because soon afterwards a very lovely but very loud lady and a bearded hipster dressed in a white tuxedo coat and black bowtie came out to escort Tilda back into the building. They kept calling her grandpa for some reason and saying he's not allowed out in the sun for more than 15 seconds. As they ushered this frail lady into the building, she suddenly shouted out "I used to be on the tee veeeee!!!" before the doors shut. Very strange but I hope to...
Read moreThe staff are all wonderful! They were hilarious, friendly, and very welcoming. Even the head chef welcomed and delighted us with his(her?) fanciful tales full of brilliant improvisation and self compliments. The whole experience was well worth the cost of the plane ticket and the half day camel ride, all of which seemed like it took no time at all after crossing the International Date Line and arriving earlier than when we left! Thanks again everyone for the great experience. We definitely will be stopping by more frequently if you ever open up a location closer to us...
