Tin Bo Co in Chinatown is one of those rare shops that feels like it’s been there forever—in the best way possible. Tucked along Broadway, it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking, but step inside and you’ll find a tea shop that quietly holds court as one of LA’s most authentic and unpretentious destinations for traditional Chinese herbs, teas, and wellness products. The walls are lined with giant canisters of loose-leaf tea—everything from delicate jasmine pearl and chrysanthemum to bold pu-erh, oolong, and rarer finds like snow chrysanthemum or Liu Bao. You can tell this place has deep roots by the way locals and serious tea drinkers come in and shop by the pound. Many of the teas here are imported directly from Taiwan and mainland China, and the owner or staff are happy to guide you if you’re not sure what you’re looking for (just be ready for a little old-school service: it’s more transactional than performative, which I appreciate). Beyond tea, Tin Bo Co also sells medicinal herbs, traditional Chinese snacks, dried goods, and other healing items. Think ginseng, goji berries, cordyceps, dried tangerine peel—ingredients you’d see in a classic Chinese apothecary. They also carry incense, tea sets, and some everyday grocery items. This is not a hipster tea shop with Instagrammable lattes and ambient music. It’s a Chinatown staple run by people who actually know what they’re selling. If you’re into tea or curious about herbal medicine, it’s worth the visit. Just don’t expect a curated “wellness experience”—this is the real deal.

I came all the way from Gardena to get some green tea , and a few other loose teas !! First I spent $85 and I thought 💭 it was a bit high but I got a few different teas , and a couple were $9.99 and $6.99 .. I get home and look at my receipt again .. only to find I was over charge by $17
they double charged me for a few different teas .. I immediately called and a nice lady answered and remember me and told me to come in Thursday and she would refund me
ok that’s was great !! But then I go to use one of the sealed bags of tea and there were tiny bugs inside bag
. I was totally disgusted.. at this point., I was done .. I never went back and chalked it up as a loss
I will NEVER go back again and I learned to check my receipt before leaving
especially with a gut feeling.. ( the lady did call back and ask if I was come the same day ) because they were closing soon .. but going all the way back downtown was not a good idea .. the lavender and green tea was ok .. but just turned off by the live bugs in my bags
not recommending this place .. sorry

large selection of goods. large selection of loose leaf tea. nice staff, always smiling. I buy “budget tea” (in bags) from this store, it’s very aromatic and tasty, I recommend it. I'll add a photo of this tea.

I went there with my girlfriend for doctor appointment, but the doctor just asked what happened with her, without telling us what is wrong with the body, she told us to buy the medicine right away which is a little bit wired to me. But after I asked her, she gave me some good suggestion and comments. But the medicine for 500ml B12 is more expensive than other store, cost 26+taxes, so we decided to go with the herb and cook some chicken soup at home instead, but later on when I asked the doctor again about one medicine I don’t really know, she got frustrated and tell me I only paid 12 bucks, do not bother her again...got a little bit sad. I think the medicine in the store is good, but the doctor is not a good one, the Chinese lady who worked at Beijing 301 army hospital, as a doctor I don’t think professionally she need to say that and just wanna us to buy the medicine even without telling us the problem. Not a...
