Iām in the entertainment business, so Iām always on the go and whenever I get a chance to get a massage, I take advantage of it. My assistant has been bragging to me about her experience with Dev. She kept telling me how I need to get a massage by her. So after a long weekend of filming, I finally had my assistant book an appointment for me with Dev. When I arrived at the facility, I noticed that they were remodeling. It wasnāt a big deal. Iām sure itās going to look amazing once theyāre done. I do hope they get a sign though. If it wasnāt for my assistant driving me there, I wouldnāt have found the place. I was waiting for about five minutes before someone came to the front and it happened to be my massage therapist. She introduced her self and informed me that she had just gotten finished with a client and would be with me shortly. We finally went into the room and it was warm and inviting. Yeah the walls were half painted because work is being done, but Dev has created a space to distract you from that. Her room smelled amazing. It was clean and her table was so neat. I didnāt want lay in it. She started off by reintroducing herself and she apologized for the condition of the clinic. I assured her that it wasnāt a big deal. You could see the stress leave her face when I said that. We went over my paperwork and she asked me if I bruised easily or had high blood pressure or diabetes. No massage therapist has ever asked me anything like that. She also asked if there were any areas on my body that might trigger any emotions. I was stuck for a minute, because again, Iāve never been asked anything like that before. To be honest, it made me feel like she really cares about people and their comfort. I was beyond impressed. THE MASSAGE WAS THE BEST ONE IVāE EVER HAD!! Not only was she very professional, but her knowledge of anatomy and her ability to read my body was out of this world. It wasnāt just a massage. It was an experience. Not just physical but mentally and emotionally. I wanted to take her to Canada with me while Iām filming, but she politely declined. Iāll definitely be seeing her again when I get back. I finally understand why my assistant swears by her Monday...
Ā Ā Ā Read more10/10. I have been going to Yoga Box daily for 5 weeks now. Bianca, Sarah, Naia, and countless other instructors make an incredible team at Yoga Box. Each instructor is well prepared, well trained, and well paced. If you want a kick-butt class, take Sarah's Sculpt class. An all arounder class, Bianca's Power Flow class. A meditative reTREAT, Naia's Restore is your go-to. The confidence and calm emanating from both the instructors and the students (after they sweat half their body weight post-class) is well worth the heat and work. Often times instructors start sessions with a theme that helps create intention and purpose for each student's practice. Bianca, who runs the studio, remembers every student's name, and is typically the first impression you see coming into the studio. She consistently checks everyone in with a positive attitude and clearly proves her passion for her practice and her community in every session she leads. The other students are super friendly. I highly recommend this hot yoga studio. Love this place!
Amenities: Two clean bathrooms, well stocked with deodorant, dry shampoo, mint, hair ties, and lotion. No showers. Would be nice if they stocked feminine products (could swap out the hair ties, dry shampoo, and mints). Mat rentals at $2 (affordable). Lockers with free locks. Always engaged with the community with events, like food drives, fundraisers for fire aid relief, studio assistant opportunities, and instructor course programs.
Parking is the only downside. Must arrive ten minutes prior to find a decent spot on the block, or park around the corner or a block down. There's a lot behind the studio with about 6 spots, not including the instructor's spots. Don't rely on those being free. Best case to be dropped off or take public transit or bike to your session.
In all, this studio offers a great hot yoga experience in Hollywood, where you can stretch your limits in a safe environment with a great community. Be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot sure what happened with my visit versus everyone elseās visit here, but just an overall terrible experience. This review is coming very late but I just felt like I had to say something. Will not be going backā¦ever. I chose this place (30+ mins away from where I live) because of all the great 5 star reviews that I had read about them, unfortunately, that was not the experience I received. The room had this really weird smell (like mildew or something) to be honest I felt like I was in a dungeon underground it was so dark. There was no music (which didnāt help later as she kept cracking her knuckles throughout the entire service š¤¦āāļø) and no candles burning to help combat that smell or anything. Her technique was definitely the most painful version Iāve ever experienced before (Iāve had multiple deep tissue massages before and itās never felt like that before). When she finished my upper body and full back and had barely touched my lower back area where I experiencing most of my pain, I asked her if it would be possible for her to work on my lower back area a little more whenever she could, and she told me that she would once she did the lower half of my body. Once she got to my lower half it felt like she was rushing through the rest of it (she may have been running out of time at this point, I honestly donāt know) but she never went to the area that I asked about š¤·āāļø. The stretch was just not even worth describing (a lot of fast twisting movements that hurt) and the hot stones were okay. She was nice but in the end I left feeling the exact way I went in but with $200+ less in my pocket which Iāve never experienced after a...
