Great food - authentic Indian spices, fast service, affordable price. But… the usual dilemma for small places who work for dining-in and delivery same time.
Service:
We saw just 2 people in the place on Saturday night. You can tell it’s a couple who struggle to run the business …
The tired lady didn’t speak basic English. She asked 3 times if we want anything else after we said in various forms: “that’s it”, “no thank you”, “we are good” …
No table water available? Why?
I asked for a silverware: the lady didn’t understand when I even brought plastic fork to her window… After some time the gentleman came to the window and later on brought silverware to the table.
They have 2 flyers of a menu: one to go and other to order indoor. When we arrived it was kind of irritating as both menus had a lot of items.
Interior & ambiance:
Nice brick wall with charming half round windows. Unfortunately the entry of this place is full of packed boxes that looks like a back storage.
You order at the little window that is connected directly to the kitchen.
No music was playing - it felt off.
Cosy lighting was on.
When we sat at the table I took a napkin to wipe off the rest crumbles of the previous guests.^^
I wanted to wash my hands afterwards before the eating the food. I had to go though the kitchen and storage to get to the bathroom where door was not even locking. I felt like back to India not in a good way … :(
Food:
Greatly spiced food. To my surprise I found pieces of fresh tomatoes and nasty bell peppers ( which I’m allergic to) in my lentil - spinach daal. Maybe that’s the left overs from some Mexican dish.. oh my…
Usually in other Indian places, dishes come with the either naan or rice. Here quite cheap vegan dish 10.95 you had to pay extra 3.95 for naan and 4.95 for rice what ended up together to average 16$ dish…
Mango lassy too thick…
Garlic naan was too dry. Garlic was brown on the top and bottom of naan crumbled.
We both left restaurant and went buying water … food was quite salted.
Probably the best is by this lack of dining -in experience would be to stay at order to go…
If you want to experience good Indian food with surprising ingredients - that’s...
Read moreA legitimately unique and underrated location in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles!
I've seen this restaurant several times when I stop to clean my car at the car wash that's next door, and was always curious to try it. On my most recent visit, I decided to do exactly that, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed in the slightest!
The fusion food here is creative, unique, AND affordable! I decided to try the three fusion tacos for about $12 total, with the three tacos being the Paneer Taco, the Chicken Tikka Taco, and the Lamb Taco.
All three of these tacos were packed of flavor and texture, while also being extremely filling! Nonetheless, the standout to me was the Chicken Tikka Taco, which was so rich, spicy, creamy, and delicious! For vegetarians, the Paneer Taco stood on its own as well and was absolutely full of seasoning and flavor.
I was also warmly welcomed when I came in and my to-go order was ready in no time at all. There's an intimate, slightly small dining space inside if you so choose, but it's also a great option for take-out, which is what I chose.
This is definitely an excellent option for delicious, high quality, unique fusion food in the Hollywood area. I...
Read moreI slept on this place for years and I’m so grateful I finally tried it because WOW this unassuming gem is fire. My improv team and I would come here after practice and it’s become a routine at this point because their chicken tikka masala and lamb tacos for under $5!? 1) incredible value, 2) exploding with flavor and the lamb is so tender!!!
Our real favorite part is being greeted and served by Sahan! He has the warmest smile and is so welcoming and helpful as he explains any dish we have questions about. He introduced us to so many dishes that have become my fave. More on that below!
They have a small parking lot which is convenient.
Their mango lassi is divine. My favorite items are their Masala Fries, this cauliflower dish Sahan introduced to us called Gobi Manchurian (so crispy and packed with flavor), their garlic naan and butter chicken.
Their pistachio and mango ice cream is sooo yummy and the perfect way to end the meal.
Truly I love this place, the staff, the service, the food, and the affordable prices!! hahah...
