Eat This Café - Hollywood Brunch Spot: Breakfast, Lunch, Bottomless Mimosas — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This horrible experience all took place yesterday, Sunday, March 23, 2025. My sister made reservations for 1:30pm for 8 people. Needless to say, we did NOT get seated until around 3pm. In between that time, we asked the hostess at least 3 times, what the hold up was. She told us that they’re waiting for this particular large party to finish, so that we can take their table. This restaurant has a 90 min limit time on their bottomless mimosas, and the hostess told us that this large party still had 40 mins left to use it. Furthermore, it was around 1:45pm when she told us this information, and like I mentioned earlier, our reservations were at 1:30pm. At this point, my family and I didn’t mind waiting a little bit longer. We all had already paid for Valet parking, and we just didn’t feel like driving somewhere else and having to wait again for a table. Unfortunately, that extra 40 mins turned into well over an hour. We did not get seated until 3pm, the restaurant closes at 4pm, and they stop serving drinks/mimosas at 3:45pm. So, from 1:30pm(our reservation time) until 3pm, the MANAGER NEVER CAME OUTSIDE TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE WAIT AND INCONVENIENCE that was caused. To be honest, the MANAGER NEVER even came to our table once we were actually seated to say anything. It was definitely very very poor CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE MANAGER FOR SURE. At least the hostess apologized to us a couple of times, and she even came outside and offered us water. My family and I were definitely ready to partake in their bottomless mimosas special when we got to the restaurant. However, once we FINALLY got seated, there was no point in ordering them by then. We barely got seated at 3pm, and they stop serving drinks at 3:45pm. So, that would give us barely 45 mins to drink on something that should last 90 mins. If the MANAGER would have offered us some type of discount, then maybe we would have ordered them. Anyhow, my family and I eventually ordered our meals. We were NOT impressed with the food, and between all of us, we ordered several different things from the menu. It was definitely NOT worth the wait at all. 👎🏽 This was all of our first times dining at this restaurant, and it will definitely be our LAST. This restaurant is most certainly not built to accommodate large parties at all. We blame this very bad experience on the MANAGER working that day. He allowed that group ahead of us to stay way after their 90 min limit time, which affected our group’s reservations tremendously. Like I mentioned before, the MANAGER NEVER EVER CAME TO APOLOGIZE OR OFFER US ANYTHING. The customer service, mainly from the MANAGER, gets a ONE STAR RATING. I walked there this morning expecting a wonderful meal, what I got was anything but! When I walked in the hostess (loose interpretation of the term) asked me to wait outside and she would come get me. I felt this was a bit unusual as she did not take my name on a wait list. Seconds later she came out and informed that they have outdoor dining only available right now. When I hesitated she repeated. Alright, I said and was taken to a table on the sidewalk. Looking into the restaurant I observed several empty tables, a few needed to be cleaned, others not. Now, I was the first person sat outside on the Santa Monica side. After a few minutes, most tables were sat, and what I noticed immediately was that every table were POC! Looking inside again I still saw clean tables. When I finally ordered (others seated after me ordered before me.) I requested the short stack. It should be noted here that the table directly in front of mine ordered, then the waiter(?) turned around and took my order. I only mention this as the food for the other table came out, and the patrons were practically finished with a very big order, and I still had not gotten my pancakes!! I flagged down the person doubling as a hostess as she was walking by, and as she approached with a "what?" I let her know about the situation described above. She said she would check on my pancakes. Less than a minute later, a mostly cold order of pancakes arrived. I'm sure they were not my order since it had been nearly 35 minutes since the original order was placed. NEVER AGAIN! A long walk for a horrible dining experience, but what stands out the most was the seating of only POC outside while Caucasians were seated inside. Horrible, unprofessional staff, worse service, cold food. If I could rate less than 1...

**the bill was “accurate” because you have since updated your menu pricing but that doesn’t change the fact that I was overcharged before you made the menu edits. We were also not told there would be an up charge with fruit in the pancakes. Also the 5 greasy rubbery pieces of bacon that came on the side look nothing the like giant pile of bacon in your photos. And the homefries are not swimming in grease in any of your photos?

I am NOT your valued customer since you REFUSE to refund me.

I will not be calling or stopping by for the free cup of coffee you offered. I will continue to email/leave reviews here every day until I am refunded.

I am not a satisfied customer and the way you are dismissing my concern of being overcharged and being served poor quality food shows that you really don’t care.

I certainly did not have the same experience shown in their fancy advert video.

My bill had higher prices than what was advertised on the menu, they wouldn’t correct in store and replied with “thanks for letting us know. Another customer complained earlier”and after emailing to give my feedback on this unethical/illegal overcharging as well as what was presented to me in regards to the sub par food, I requested and was denied a refund.

Home fries aren’t supposed to come out in a puddle of grease, bacon isn’t meant to be tough and rubbery (like it was microwaved) and the pancakes were super dense. While I wanted to send back the food after trying, my friend I was dining with suffers from anxiety and asked me not to however I am still not satisfied with my experience here.
