Chiquis Taco Truck — Restaurant in Los Angeles

It’s a taco truck, what do you do when it’s 1am and you get munchies? You come to a taco truck, the prices are reasonable, the food is fine, the area is not so great, but they do have parking and seating. The truck is located inside the gas station which is nice cause its easy to get to, (no having to park on the curb). Good service. Quality is average on a good day, below average most of the time. Los Angeles is blessed with great Mexican food, Chiquis is not one of them. They do well for themselves serving gringos but corners are cut. Asada is gummy and full of tissue. Salsas are extremely diluted, way too runny, even when you adjust expectations to the complimentary self-service 1 gallon salsa buckets. I lived in Cali as a little girl. Took a trip back and hands down these are the best tacos I’ve ever had. I now live in Maryland and while I’ve found good spots, when anyone brings up street tacos I bring up this truck no matter what state I’m in. Love supporting a small business where I know my dollar is appreciated. Their team works hard, and it shows in the quality of service and food.
