Arhaus — Local services in Los Gatos

Interior designer and long time customer of Arhaus and was so excited to hear that one opened down the street from me! Unfortunately my experience in store wasn’t a great one. I don’t experience rac*sm ever, but it was blatantly clear that this was happening as I was the only person of color in a room with another 5 customers in store that were white and everyone else was being assisted. I was shopping around for about 30 minutes before someone greeted me as they were on their way to the bathroom. Towards the end, my husband and I (and my two toddlers in their stroller) and one other woman were the only ones in the store. we were lingering around waiting for someone to help us purchase a set of dining chairs but instead they were all talking amongst each other and never bothered checking on us. there was a man working around 12pm today that I tried making eye contact with to see if he would assist us and he acted as if we didn’t exist. When I finally heard him ask if we needed help, I turned around and noticed he was directing the question to the woman that was near us (who was of course, white) So sad about this experience, i don’t often leave reviews but I left feeling really sad and discriminated against when I have very rarely felt this way in this industry. While browsing for replacement furniture, I stumbled upon the Arhaus store in Los Gatos. Lara warmly welcomed me and provided me with a detailed overview of the various styles available. She also introduced me to Stuthi, their talented designer, who visited my home to offer personalized recommendations. Throughout the decision-making process, I visited the store several times, and each time, Lara and Stuthi patiently addressed my questions and concerns such as compatibility of bed frame. Notably, on the day I placed my order, I spent over three hours with them in the store! Looking back, I realize I chose models and colors almost identical to their initial recommendations. We were so excited to get a new home store in Los Gatos. It took over a few stores from before. My husband and I went in with our baby after a date night and we were so impressed. Beautiful displays and so nicely furnished. It’s disappointing to read the previous person’s review. I’m Hispanic, though I look more white, and I was asked a few times if I needed help. It was easy to reach out to the people at the front desk to ask for assistance. It wasn’t too crowded both times we went, and the staff was very friendly both times.
