You know I went INTO the club where I signed up, Los Lunas, Nm. I WENT IN PERSON, SO I COULD SIGN FOR CANCELLATION. I had been going close to two years/BLACK CARD. When I signed up (Mar.22, 2021) I also signed and allowed them to take monthly dues ($25.08) straight from my checking account/on the 17th of each month. I had been a member for over a year so there was no cancellation fee.
Anyway, I went in IN PERSON TO CANCEL on Dec.9 2022. One worker said you still can come in the rest of December. Another. worker (new on job) said,… “No…..tomorrow is the 10th, our cut off date.” Super confusing, but ask for a print out showing I'm cancelled. They said printer was not working ??????? Big business & printer not working? They did say I would receive an email.
I did receive an email that stated “PENDING CANCEL.” Request date December 17, 2022 & this was Dec. 9th, 2022. I Was expecting to see CANCELED/DEC.09, 2022. This was even more confusing. My smart phone still had the app. Showed account still open and flashing to…sIgN. iN./CHECK IN. My account stated next payment due "January 22, 2023." If it is cancelled there should be no "Next Payment."
My first thought was their trying to trick the customer to sign in which would BLOW away the cancellation. I have been dealing with businesses a long time and not use to such confusion. To me “pending cancel” is not the same as “Cancelled.” Is there a difference in “DEAD,” and. “Peanding DEATH?” ?
I did go back in and talk with a female desk person. At first she tried to stop me from talking so she could talk. I explained the Cancellation and the "Facility calling it Pending Cancel." She kept saying it was the same thing as cancel. I said for ME, it was NOT the same thing. I again ask for a Print Out showing I was cancelled, and she said the printer was "not working." She also said I could still workout until Jan. 2023, BUT when another person was looking at the computer she changed it, and said last day Dec.10th, 2022. After a lot of back and forth, she said she was going to call the Police. I said "Great, call the Police, I will wait." She did NOT call the police and became Irate, I think at herself.
It wasn't till Dec 23, 2022 that my phone app no longer allowed me to sign in OR check in. I check my bank account all the time to see if they withdraw after PENDING CANCEL.
**I JUST DON'T TRUST PLANET FITNESS. I DONT TRUST THEIR DESK Manager BUSINESS CARD WHEN NO ONE HAS SEEN “THAT” MGR. IN PERSON.

** I DON’T TRUST MY PHONE APP STILL SHOWING I WAS A MEMBER, AFTER I CANCELLED ON DEC. 09,2022 AND FLASHING FOR ME TO SIGN IN. **I SURE DON T TRUST THEIR CANCELLATION TACTICS.......WITH TWO DIFFERENT WORKERS ON TWO DIFFERENT DAYS TELLING ME I COULD STILL COME IN TO WORKOUT FOR REST OF MONTH, AFTER GOING IN TO CANCEL ON DEC. 09,2022. IF I HAD, IT WOULD HAVE CONTINUED MY ACCOUNT AND WITHDRAWAL OF MY MONEY ?
*I DON’T TRUST THAT WE NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER, NOTICE, OR PAPER STATING OUR ACCOUNT WAS CANCELLED. IT APPEARS THEY DID STOP WITHDRAWING FROM OUR BANK SO FAR, BUT HAVE NOT SEEN “ACCOUNT CANCELLED” & THEY HAVE OUR BANK INFORMATION.
What is honest and normal, is the business give in Writing “Account Cancelled” when requested by customer.
If anyone is thinking about joining, **Ask to meet the manager IN PERSON. They probably will just offer you a business card (not the same as in person.} ** Get a Corp.Office phone number, if they can't give you a good number, don't sign up. ASK IF THERE ARE DIFFERENT WAYS TO PAY EACH MONTH, if you sign up.
IF YOU CANCEL, DO IT BEFORE THE 10TH, AS THAT IS “THEIR” CUT OFF DATE. ONCE YOU GO IN TO CANCEL, DO NOT / DO NOT “CHECK IN” TO YOUR ACCOUNT FOR ANY REASON AFTER THE 10TH…UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR ACCOUNT TO STAY...
Read more**11/2018 update facility has gotten better, I go mid day. Some machines are starting to show some wear but that's expected with the constant use, reported some damage to some exposed cables and it was noted immediately and placed for repair.the Staff has gotten alot better, just wish it wasnt so cold in there... *4/2017 another update, i have failed to see anyone from planet respond to me.. well i noticed that there was a regional manager there and some other manager, well they were walking around and whatseem to be taking notes, i hope they stayed for the night shift which is the one that has the issue of unprofessional staff members , if you read this please make this a 24/7 gym!! alot of us would work out on friday,saturday and sunday nights... update 3/2017 , so i recebtky visited a PF in dalton GA a 24/7 facility! Facility was clean. Equipment all squared away,I come back home... the employees are talking about how much they like to drink and party and so on. Management do something about this, get the equipment fixed. I know that losing two memberships isn't gonna affect you so I won't threaten to leave, but get a hold of your employees and run the gym right, * ok so i've held my review to give the establishment a chance to fix the issues..hasnt happened so here it is.... well its been long enough to wait these issues out. first its the staff, all the young ones are rude and impolite,no appreciation for having a job and treat customers like garbage, not only myself but i observe how they treat other people, they have no customer service skills or desire to develop people skills,they are more interested in snap chatting and making fun of patrons, and checking their "insta" than tending to customers. they address you with hey! or what?! if you talk to them..... the older ladies i see sometimes are the nicest ones ive dealt with and are more than happy to answer anybodies questions and if they dont know they make sure to find out the answer for us... the equipment is going down the drain pretty fast, one of the issues i believe its the fact that they allow teenagers to work out, they dont clean up after themselves, and they just throw stuff around not caring for it,also a few of the spray bottles are empty and or broken,the bathroom stalls and showers are filthy the times ive gone in the evening, some sort of accountability schedule should be put in place.also ive found the mop bucket and the vacuum laying around random spots in the gym..., another issue is the security in the parking lot, numerous vehicles have gotten broken into in broad daylight recently and or damaged. i been wanting to speak with Pete about these issues but my schedule conflicts with his so i am never able to speak to him, so it lead me to this PF i hope you read this and take it serious the equipment needs to be inspected thoroughly and fixed if need be.and should designate or have employees do periodic walk arounds inside to make sure there is no kids horse playing and outside as well, ironically i noticed some highschooler trying to open my car door yesterday after he left the gym....bad idea, i left it go because the alarm went off but you dont mess with peoples vehicles specially if they are nearby, and there is weapons in...
Read moreIf I could put zero stars I would. I went to the planet fitness location because I had a free membership with my Presbyterian insurance. After i successfully signed up they informed me i could get black card membership for $10 a month since i was already free. I went ahead and signed up and a few weeks later they charged my account $22! I was upset because i had enough in there for the contracted $10 and they over drafted my account. I was so angry when i called the manager insisted he would give me the next month free to since the $22 covered 2 months. I told him i wanted my money back and no longer wanted them to have any of my financial information. He agreed to close out my membership and he would refund my money. A week later i only seen a $10 refund. I wasn't going to call back to the rest of my money. I just figured i was done with them. When the next month rolled around they charged my account $42!!!!! I was so angry again and called back and the supervisor insisted i call back Monday to talk to the manager Pete. I made several attempts to call him and when i finally got a hold of him he was rude and unhelpful. He insisted the first month i had a late charge of $10 which would be impossible considering i had automatic payments! Then he told me my $42 charge was legitimate because the annual fee! I kept trying to get him to understand that they promised me it was only $10 a month and when i talked to the last supervisor she told me my account was set up wrong and was being charged for full membership. He then proceeded to argue with me and would not listen. I told him i even talked to him last month and he assured me no more charges would go to my account. He told me he would not have told me that because i have to go in to cancel my membership. My husband then got on the phone with him to try to explain the situation and he got so frustrated with him he told my husband we were both banned from the gym because he did not want people like us there. Planet fitness is individual owned and therefore, i could not reach any corporate office. I made phone calls all day to other gyms in Albuquerque until a manager was willing to help me out. He also told me i was being billed incorrectly and gave me Chris Skips email address because the way i was treated. I then wrote the district manager Chris a email and he COULDN'T even bother getting back to me. I then contacted city hall to get the owners information and all they had was a 1800 number. When i called them they told me they would get back with me and ensure my refund was corrected. NEVER did any one get back to me. Later that day Pete called me back and never apologized but said he realized we were incorrectly charged and would issue a refund. It has been 3 weeks and no refund to my account. I had to file a claim with my bank and my bank refund me my money in a week!!! I still fill like the manager lied to me and never issued a refund, Chris Gipp the district manager couldn't even bother with my issue and to top it all off I was victimized by these people who corruptly do business and stole my money!!!!!! I cant believe the way I was treated. NEVER do businesses with these people and if you do make sure they do not have your account...
