Fortunoff Backyard Store — Local services in Lower Macungie Township

We bought all our outdoor furniture for our new inground pool and concrete decking at the Trexletown PA location . Needless to say it is quite an investment when putting together your outside oasis. My wife and shopped around, it was daunting and stressful trying to decide on different looks and how to achieve the right ambience.

When we made our way to Fortnoff Backyard store with my wife who was 9 months pregnant and our two young children running amuck. The stress level was high. The Asst. Mgr Hector went right into action, getting some toy games for the kids to preoccupy them so my wife and I could browse the selection. He gave us space and allowed us to narrow down some options we liked.

I could go on and on about the all the details of the great experience we had, but the sum of it is this ... Hector put such time, effort, and care into making sure that we were able to get what we wanted, when we wanted it.

I am a Director of Operations of a big box retailer company with territory that spans from PA all way down to Miami. Needless to say I have thousands of employees that include Dept Mgrs, Senior Mgrs, and Regional Mgrs.

Hector impressed me.

I didn't always make it easy for him, but he rose to occasion every time. His level of service, urgency, and holding the deal together at times was really stellar. Frankly I could use a few Senior Mgrs like him working for me.

Customers will always tell you what you are doing wrong and not nearly enough of what you are doing right. Fortnoff got it right big time with Hector.

It's important that employees like this hear it and also that leadership knows it. I know I would want to know ... Thanks again Hector for making this experience what it was.

The assistant manager was super friendly when I walked in and extremely helpful. I was looking for a particular lounge chair and he only had 1 in the store and offered to check his other stores. Luckily he found 2 more and I was delighted to buy 3. I then told him that I think I would be unable to put it in my car especially since we were far from home. He offered to have them shipped to a nearby store from my house. This was the best experience I have ever had!!! When I went to my neighborhood store in Livingston NJ and desperately wanted more of these lounge chairs the manager didn’t offer any of these possibilities even though I asked if he could call other stores although he was extremely personable and friendly. Hector Velez-Rosario deserves to have his own store and I wish it were...

As soon as we walked in Julie greeted us and immediately was able to help us start. We had never been before so she was very thorough going over the store and some helpful information to aid in our choosing the best furniture for us. She answered all of our questions as we had them and was very attentive to us without hovering over us. She gave personal opinions because she has bought things over the years. We enjoyed our experience and would recommend to anyone who is in the market for some backyard furniture. They are the best I have seen. I mean it's in their name. So glad we accidently stumbled upon this place because we have been saying we need to find some outdoor furniture that's not cheap and will last. We found just that here and we couldn't be happier.
