I love Costco. We are new first time members and the gentleman that signed us up was super nice and convinced us to get an Executive membership. We’ve only had it about two months now. The staff is mostly friendly and so far our experience has been great.
Recently though we had some disappointment. We had bought a 50” Vizio from Costco during a pre Black Friday sale. We had it shipped because our car is small and it was a last minute deal online. It came broken. The whole front screen was crushed in. We had a friend help us take it to the store and I was very disappointed in Costco because all they wanted to do was refund us and not replace it because the sale was over so they would not honor the price we purchased it for. The gentleman helping us didn’t feel that was right and asked a manager there about it but she seemed defensive right off. We had to show her our email from Costco and then she just said it was only an online sale but we told her the deal said we could pick it up in store and we just decided to have it shipped (they had our tv there btw). She told us that they don’t do that so it’s impossible that option was available. We showed her the screenshot of it and she said we couldn’t click on it to choose that option even though it was there. It seemed like she wanted to argue and not help make it right by letting us get our TV. I couldn’t believe it but didn’t flip out even though it was upsetting. It’s Christmas time. Jesus helped me not bite back! Haha. We had our toddlers with us too and this lady was testing my buttons. At the end of the day it’s just a TV and things don’t matter that much to get petty. I just couldn’t believe how rude she was being to us when we were the ones who should be upset. I decided I didn’t want to give them my business at that point if all they wanted to do was avoid helping us and find ways out of the deal. They basically said “oh that sucks, here’s your money - you can pay $70 extra for the TV if you still want it or get a deal on a Samsung for $150 more, we also have deals on bigger TVs for $699) nope... We called around to price match and no store would honor the deal because it was no longer an active sale. We decided to go down the street to Best Buy to see if they would. They are still the Best and original price matchers. We told the Best Buy manager what happened. He said that was fine and gave us our original sale price! No big deal. We just had to show him our receipt, email of the deal and our Costco card. It meant a lot to us because we waited so long to get a TV and losing that price that we fixed in our budget was disappointing. It wasn’t their sale or active yet they still honored it. Costco wouldn’t even do that for their own Executive members. Go to Best Buy for price matches it really is the Best Buy plus the manager and staff were all very kind. I still love Costco for all my other needs but I’m pretty disappointed in the way they were nonchalant about it and the managers callousness. The gentleman helping us felt bad at the end and called us back over to apologize and tried to show us more deals. I don’t plan on buying electronics from Costco in the future. It’d have to be a pretty awesome big deal to make me change my...
Read moreWe purchased a Costco card and went shopping for the first time. We don't have a Costco back home but after today's experience I won't be back. My mom and I and my kids had a great shopping experience until check out. Our self-checkout register kept giving us issues. Some items it wanted on the tray others it didn't. We both had a lot of groceries so the guy helping had to come over several times. "No big deal, except his not so friendly attitude, which I get I was annoyed at us but the machine was also glitching. "Not completely our fault" Here is where it gets bad. I walk up to hand my receipt to someone who shouldn't be in customer service "Chloe" she starts pulling every item out of my basket counting items, opening things like I had just stole something. I asked if thefts were bad and this was a normal thing? She said yes, she checks everyone's basket. Ya'll all we had was groceries. She said wait you didn't scan your milk. Oh yes you did its right here. I'm thinking you didn't scan everything let me count again. At this point I said I need a manager. An idiot "manager" walks over and starts the same process. By this time I had to walk out, they were trying to find something we stole or couldn't count correctly IDK. Luckily another manager who was competent walked over and asked my mom if she was ok? She explained the situation and at that time it took the other idiot manager and Chloe to finally figure out the box of Velveeta cheese didn't get scanned. I promise I wasn't risking going to jail in another town with my 2 young kids over a box of Velveeta cheese. The competent manager gave my mom the cheese for all that trouble we just went through and sent her on her way. Is this normal for Costco? Or maybe they were radioed by the people watching the cameras that we stole something. IDK but I still can't figure out why we were stopped and...
Read moreFor a company that wants to follow the science, we’ll forget Costco. Costco are still having a mask mandate for their customers. One rule or law to follow for the whole world and Lubbock TX. The State of Texas and City of Lubbock have cleared, released all mandates, but not Costco. The reason that was given me to wear a mask in Costco, is that they were a worldwide company. (I’m also a member of several professional groups that are also worldwide, but they have had the wisdom to go by local and state governments guidelines in the Geographic locations of their group meeting.) Where is their Wisdom?
If Costco was interested in the science and not politics, they would default to the state or country and local governments to help their businesses conform to local mandates and requirements. They are a worldwide company and there is no hope, and we will be wearing a mask the rest of our life at Costco, for someplace in the world they are wearing a mask for some type of virus or disease.
I’m so thankful we have a Sam’s Club here in Lubbock, for they will allow one to wear a mask if they want to or not. This is a strong worldwide company which still appreciates one’s freedoms and they have the wisdom to default back to state local and city governments in their requirements for one’s healthcare.
If they do not lift this requirement soon, I will not be renewing my membership to Costco.
If you appreciate this review please replicate the thoughts and encourage this company to follow the science and the current laws of the state, local, and city governments. If this message hits their pocketbook they will no longer be concerned. Please encourage Costco to follow the science and do what our local and state governments have said. Freedom is a...
