Title: pic should be enough- but feel free to read if you need further convincing :)
Since I had never gotten a spray tan before, I called ahead and asked for tips for pre-spray tan prep. I followed all of their directions in addition to all the typical tips and tricks online. When I arrived for my appointment everyone was nice and welcoming and made me feel super comfortable. I was happy when I left and left a 25% tip for service I was happy with at the time.
Things were okay until I woke up the next morning with not just orange, but completely brown hands and feet. I know this is a common #spraytanfail, so I got in the shower with my exfoliating gloves and and my coconut oil and started scrubbing. After scrubbing my skin bare and not noticing a difference, I started calling around to my friends who get frequent spray tans. Everyone told me that the airbrusher should have never sprayed my palms the way she did and that’s a huge NO when it comes to tanning. When I was getting the tan done, I did think it was odd that she specifically asked me to face my palms to her to get sprayed, but I didn’t say anything about it because I figured she was the expert and knew what she was doing. As I was checking out, I asked the girl at the counter about washing my hands and she advised me to not do that until the morning at the risk of my hands being lighter than the rest of my body… I’m obviously now having the extreme opposite issue.
All of my friends told me to call the salon because they should have some type of solution and offer to help fix it. I did that and I also brought up my concern about spraying my hands. They told me that the airbrusher who did me has been spraying for 5 years, but that they would talk to her and ask her about that. In the meantime they told me to just keep scrubbing. (Even though my hands are literally raw from all the scrubbing I’ve done.)
The picture I’m attaching is AFTER scrubbing my skin bare with exfoliating gloves and coconut oil. If anyone reading this has any magic remedies for my brown hands & feet I’m totally open to...
Read moreFirstly, upon entering the salon, I was greeted by a stale, musty odor that immediately made me question the cleanliness of the facilities. The receptionist seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged my presence. They were so rude.
Once I was escorted to the tanning booth, I was shocked by the lack of cleanliness and maintenance. The equipment looked poorly maintained.
As if the nasty facilities weren't bad enough, the quality of the tanning beds left much to be desired. Despite setting the bed to the recommended time, I emerged from my session with a patchy, uneven tan. Not to mention, the bulbs in the bed seemed ancient and likely ineffective, further contributing to the lackluster results.
To add insult to injury, the pricing is exorbitant considering the poor quality of service and facilities. I left feeling not only unsatisfied with my tan but also feeling like I had wasted my hard-earned money on an experience that was anything...
