Buyer Beware - This was the first and last time we went there. Instead of greeting us, the older woman stared us down, what a nice welcome. We tried to figure out what the process was for the bowls but all she would say was âwhat else? What else?â like we were infringing on her time. She didnât give any sort of explanation how it all works or what was the first step. After the bowl went into the oven the second step is to choose your sides. en, it seems like the next thing to do is choose your sides. Even though some of their serving spoons were slotted they didnât drain anything they put in the bowl (so watery beans and watery tomatoes), and when we asked for the hummus on the side we didnât realize until after paying that they actually charged us extra for it (because it was on the side). Hummus IS a side you can get for free. I told the older woman to please refund me this âsauce on the sideâ charge and to just add the sauce to the bowl like normal. She just kept repeating âthis is the charge thatâs all I can say, thatâs all I can sayâ. Then she said only âheâ can issue a refund and asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. When I said yeah she responded with, âthe manager is not hereâ. Our point is, if theyâre charging extra for something but have no intention of letting customers know until after they paid is just downright robbery. All because you asked to have it on the side. It wasnât advertised on their paper menu, the board, or even an associate letting you know verbally that it would be extra. Nothing. Eventually she realized I wasnât going to give up and refunded us out of the tip jar, and then took the sauce and the pita bread out of our bag (which we didnât realize until we got to our hotel room). We walked in all smiles and happy and left annoyed and insulted- all thanks to such bad service and rude employees. I hope the manger does read this and realize weâll never return (and we love Mediterranean food).
TLDR: Very unfriendly/rude, charged us extra for hummus which was an included side in the bowl, didnât give us our pita bread, and all the...
Read moreFirst time having takeout at the Shelbyville location on 8/4. Food was great that was in the bag but they did not include both orders of baklava and we did not notice until we returned home. That's the least of the issues with this place it seems.
Once you order take out it informs you in the email to give them a call when you arrive and they'll have your order out shortly. Once we pulled in I called to let them know just like instructed and was instantly met with an incredibly rude lady answering the phones for them. I informed her we were here and she states with major attitude âok?". I just said that I'm calling based on the email and what info does she need from me and she goes off on a ride tangent about how they "have multiple orders that some aren't even done and I don't even know who you are". Well yeah, you could have probably asked my name and I would have told you like a normal curbside pickup experience. I could clearly tell the customer service was poor and I asked if I need to come in and she states yes. I went in a few minutes later as I was just a couple minutes earlier than expected. There was an older woman who was also trying to pick up her order and seemed a bit bothered/upset almost as if she'd had just been scolded too. I ended up asking her if they were having a bad day and she chuckled and nodded in agreement as the lady I assume was the one answering the phones just glared from the back at everyone. Apparently she received a similar response to her curbside pickup order phone call too. Needless to say this person and business should be ashamed at the poor customer service that was provided. If that's the type of service they have and don't have issues with how they handle take out orders then I won't be bringing my business to that location again. Do better.
I hope the other customer who I spoke with leaves her experience here like we talked about shortly and has...
Read moreIf you want a gyro or anything on pita, this is the one you want to go to. Ignore the weird parking lot and the lack of decor - if you're hungry and you want a gyro, come here.
The original location is set up like a normal sit down restaurant, which is fine. The food is great at the Bardstown Rd location. But THIS location is set up like a sandwich shop, which seems to work much better in my opinion. You tell them what you want and how much of each topping while you watch them make it. Even though there are a lot of options, the staff isn't going to hurry you through. You can try things before you get them on your wrap/bowl/pitadilla/etc. if you ask. I've never felt judged for my order or questions, and a notoriously picky family member loved both the service and the food here. It's definitely a good place to introduce people to gyro meat if they haven't had it before. Because of the style of the restaurant, there are free refills on drinks and as many condiments as you'd like.
The Hercules size pita wrap is enormous. The regular size pitadilla is enough for two meals. The appetizers are enough to share with probably 4 hungry people, if not more. Even though the portions are huge, everything still tastes great - it's not a quality vs quantity issue.
One of the best perks? They know you'll probably have leftovers and need to-go containers... which they have sitting out for you near the door to get whatever you need. I always need a lid for the Zeus fries because I can never finish them AND a pita, even with multiple people helping.
Great food and great service every time.
