I'm typically a Marriott guy, but I'm so annoyed by all the brands they have and inconsistent quality of their intermediate-level hotels. Plus, they've devalued their points so much that loyaly gets you very little.
I stayed in 3 different Hyatt House and Hyatt Place hotels over the course of 2 weeks and it was a breath of fresh air. I had the same experience in all 3 hotels. The design of their hotels are modern yet warm. The beds and pillows are super comfortable. Rooms were spacious. Customer service was great. The hotels were clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was very good. The selection was somewhat limited compare to some others I've had had, but the quality was high for the items they did have. I had scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, and toast. They also had yogurt, juices, fruits, assorted breads, pastries and oatmeal. They use real plates which really gave breakfast a classy feel. The staff serving breakfast were also very courteous.
This particular hotel seemed pretty new and was in an upscale areas. They was nearby shopping with higher end stores and I saw two high end steak houses.
Overall, I was very impressed. The price was very reasonable for what you got. The points I earned are also much more valuable toward earning free nights. I am strongly considering switching to Hyatt as my primary option for hotels. I just wish they had more locations, but I think that's slowly improving.
My advice to Hyatt, keep doing what you are doing and don't follow in the footsteps of Marriott and Hilton in putting profits over customers. You'll win over a lot more customers from those brands who are fed up like me.
For my fellow travellers, give Hyatt a try. I think you'll be...
Read moreStayed here for a week for a business trip! One of the best hotel stays we’ve had and we normally stay at Ritz Carlton’s or Waldorf Astorias so that says a lot! This hotel is that great! Excellent location, beautiful king room, great amenities in the room, nice workout room & pool! The breakfast is buffet style and they make pancakes from scratch and omelets right in front of you! Not sure what is in the pancake batter but they are some of the best pancakes I’ve eaten! The staff in the kitchen are just super friendly and very welcoming and that is Nice to have especially for a morning encounter to get your day started! The front desk staff are also nice! I did find that one of the bartenders overcharged us for drinks during our time in the lounge but wasn’t a big deal! Our next bartender was an older gentlemen and made up for the hasty encounter with the “Tuesday” bartender. Overall, anytime we are in Louisville this will be where we stay and where we recommend others! Our company said they were considering using another hotel in the future due to it being a little further drive from the office and we assured them that the employees would be missing out if they didn’t get to stay here and it is worth the longer drive! Thankfully after us raving about it, they stated they will continue using them!...
Read moreSuch a great place to stay. Grabbed a bite at the bar to take to the room. Hamburger was good and big side salad was fresh. Nice to not have to go out anywhere since it was 9:30 pm. The room: mini refrig with a separate small freezer, perfect size to put our freezer packs. Generously sized room that had an area as you go into the bathroom you can set a suitcase and has two drawers underneath. The shower - products in pumps were great and the water pressure was powerful/wonderful. High marks alone for that! The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a hotel that included breakfast!! Blueberry and plain pancakes that were excellent, bacon, maple sausage links, good scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, and asst of breads. There was fruit but I headed for the hot stuff. The hot food was great! No runny scrambled eggs here, No undercooked scrawny bacon here, No weak gravy here! It all was very good! The staff working the breakfast was great too. They were friendly and kept busy staying on top of the Saturday morning crowd. I think breakfast is a big deal and this hotel does an amazing job. Highly recommend Hyatt House...
