We stayed one night in a two-story loft with our family of 6. The kids loved it. My husband was fine with it. It was okay to me but probably not somewhere I will stay again. My immediate impression when walking in was that the space was dated and well-worn. While the kitchen area seemed to be updated and felt nicer, most of the unit felt weary. The carpet throughout was old, the stair railing looked like it was from my childhood, the bottom of the armchair was frayed, and I felt unsure of the overall cleanliness. The only blatantly dirty aspect was the bottom front of the toilet downstairs; it had dried splatters of something all down the front of it that had not been cleaned off. That was pretty gross. Other than that, I can’t say that the whole place felt dirty; it could just use some fresh carpet and furniture. Also, there was pet hair on the pull-out sofa in the living room. I definitely don’t understand this popular shift in the hotel world toward pet-friendliness without regard for allergens. I love pets and understand people want to travel with them. But we need some pet-free options for guests who have sensitivities to pet hair. If that’s not possible, then the cleaning staff really has to get rid of residual pet hair between guests. Thankfully, as short as our stay was, it did not irritate my son this time as it has at previous experiences in other places. I will say that the staff members we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We were offered additional bedding for the sofa, and we also were given a toothbrush for the one kid who packed hers in the wrong suitcase. :) Also, the hot breakfast was decent. I was surprised it shut down at 9:00, though. My husband and sons went just in time to eat something and bring back plates for those of us who weren’t ready to leave the room yet. We enjoyed it overall. All in all, it was not an awful stay by any means. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was functional and stocked with the utensils we needed, and it served our purposes for a quick stay over on a long road trip. While it won’t be my first choice for future stays, I wouldn’t cross it off the list entirely.

The place is clean and the rooms spacious. We had a 2nd floor townhouse-like accommodations. I only counted 4 handicap parking spots located around the property. As you will see in the pictures below, I questioned Caleb, the front desk attendant, (Mgr. also present, but didn’t get her name) why did all the Apple Google Earth Cars get to reserve spots, yet I when get back to the hotel the limited handicap spaces have been taken. His response “well, they’re paying customers also” I said but they get to reserve spots? “Yes, that’s just how it is”. At this point I then started evaluating the hotel from a global ADA level. Here are some observations: 1. Sidewalks are narrow and are not smooth. A wheelchair would not fit and they are winding in layout. 2. Breakfast is served on the 2nd floor of the Main Desk Bldg. I did not see an elevator. How anyone who can’t climb stairs gets upstairs is beyond me. 3. Lack of parking, especially when a deal has been struck with a company whose workers each drive a car and spots are reserved. 4. Did not see any device to aid a wheelchair customer into the pool. Again, my review is from an ADA perspective, if you or your family has a wheelchair or can’t climb steps, I’d look for other accommodations. I was debating driving to Lowe’s to buy $15 orange cone and write my name on it. My comment to Front Desk Staff….well, that’s just how it is…. Parking, and lack of handicap accommodations seem to be a common thread in the reviews below. THE ADA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS PLACE!

This place was beyond our expectations. We came in for a pickleball tournament with some friends from Ohio. When we checked in we were greater by Aaron at the front desk. He was very kind and super accommodating when we asked if we could get a room closer to our friend and the sport court. When my wife booked this place she saw the pool (which is usually a must for our stays) and the sport court. We brought our own net so that we could practice and warm up before the tournament. Aaron helped us out and got some tape so that we could tape off the lines and even joined in and learned some of the game. Aaron would also come out frequently while we're hanging out by the fire pit and make sure we had everything we needed. He got us grilling utensils when we grilled, towels when we went to the pool and even turned the outside lights on so we could hit around a little more. All around awesome experience!! Aaron went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed.

We arrived at Residence Inn with a reservation to stay 3 nights. We ended up only staying 1 night due to a variety of issues. If we were able to locate another room sooner we would have left immediately. The biggest concern is that even though this hotel has a "strict no-smoking policy" it was clear that our room (421) had been recently smoked in or was previously a smoking room. I should've known that it was going to be a bad situation when I spotted an ashtray right outside the door of the room. The odor was TERRIBLE - it permeated everything. We lit candles, sprayed Febreze, and ran the air continuously...nothing seemed to help. It was unacceptable. In addition, the room was not thoroughly cleaned. The carpet (beneath the desk) and couch were stained. The stemware and silverware were covered in spots. The vegetable peeler in the drawer still had food stuck on it. There were several hairs remaining in the bathroom floor and shower wall upon check in. There was a small leak in the shower faucet that dripped continuously. The wall behind the kitchen sink was dirty. The exterior light bulb outside the door needed to be replaced. Some of the printed materials in the room had clearly been there for a long time (e.g., the grocery list was worn and stained from being handled over and over again). We used sanitizing wipes to wipe down the hard surfaces that we knew we would have to touch. We knew we were going to be there at least one night. After a terrible night of no sleep due to the intense smell of the room, we checked out the complimentary breakfast. We took one look at it and left to find food elsewhere. The next night we checked into another Marriott hotel. The manager assured us that none of the rooms had ever been smoking rooms, and when I explained the experience we had he gave us a deep discount on the daily rate to compare with what we had originally booked at Residence Inn. The remainder of our trip was wonderful because we checked out of Residence Inn. We initially chose Residence Inn due to the reasonable price (in comparison to other options), the decent ratings on Trip Advisor, and its proximity to the conference I was attending. This was the worst travel experience I have ever had. I will never stay at this Residence Inn again. To be fair, we did not address our concerns with the management of Residence Inn. We knew that there were no additional rooms available, and to be honest, no amount of cleaning could have removed the...

The man at the front desk was extremely polite, and had great manners. Not once was he rude about anything at all, same goes for all of the other staff. The lobby was nice, we liked the vibe of it, and the comfort of it. This inn had an outdoor pool, which was nice, but only had one open entrance for some reason. Next to the pool was a small basketball court. It was nice, but the hoop was crooked which made it harder to play. Walking the dogs was fun. I’d look up to walking the dogs every morning and every evening. The walk around the area felt like home. The breakfast was great, yet it had a small variety of food, and it didn’t have any oil for the waffles making them hard to get out of the waffle maker. They had quiches, which were miniature and surprisingly very good. Not many hotels have quiches for breakfast. The room was great. It had an upstairs room and a downstairs one. The couch turned into a bed. The downsides were that there were a couple of light bulbs that were out, the dishwasher didn’t work, there weren’t enough utensils or kitchenware, and in the room upstairs, the bed was right under a loft that could be a hazard to little children if they got on the bed and jumped off for some reason. I would recommend to the managers to flip the bed around, so the head isn’t facing the loft. The Wi-Fi was great! It stretched through out the whole area, and I had full bars while I was walking the dogs. The fridge temperature should be lowered, because we put sodas in the fridge and they froze overnight. We loved the design of the area. It was like a neighborhood! Every room looked like a cute little cottage, and it just made the experience better. Overall, we liked this Residence Inn located in Louisville, Kentucky. If your visiting, we do recommend going here if you can’t find any other places to stay. ||-Traveling...
