Wow - I cannot say enough good things about this company on both the quality of the games and the quality of the staff members at every location. Clayton, Julianna, Morgan, you made my week with your kindness and generosity - I’m an escape room enthusiast who’s done 599 rooms and you really made me feel special. The room I played this time was Cosmic Crisis, another absolute slam dunk from the company with incredible puzzles, wow moments, set design, and pretty much anything you’d want in an escape room. In particular, the puzzles consistently innovated on common spaceship tropes that made it fresh and thrilling for enthusiasts and first timers. Not a single interaction is wasted. The set, effects, and character guiding you through made the entire game feel like an adventure. Everything about this game was extremely high quality and profoundly exciting.
However, it is rare that an escape room company has such incredible service that it equals the quality of the games themselves. The Escape Game absolutely qualifies. From when I played my second game ever in Orlando, to when I hit 200 games in Texas, to now, every single customer service interaction has been above and beyond. I cannot thank this crew enough, they truly exude positivity and support. I’ve always wanted to have a location in my home state and with both Dedham and Lynnfield, I’m so happy more people can play these games and meet these people. If you’re an enthusiast, or a first time player, this company is absolutely one you...
Read moreWe seek out great escape rooms, and this had excellent reviews. However, Ruins: Forbidden Treasure was just middle of the road for me. The theming was well done and immersive, and there were some interesting puzzles I haven't seen before. I also appreciated that it had good tech beyond the standard locks and keys. As for cons, part of the room wasn't working (without giving anything away, an item that you need for the puzzle was not returned as it should be). The game master did not seem to be watching, so we fiddled with it for a while, and it took a couple tries to communicate the issue to the GM. A bigger issue for me was the room capacity/non-private experience. We booked as a group of 6, and were joined by a group of 2. In my opinion, 8 people is too many for this escape room (4 would be ideal, 6 max). The game play is fairly linear, so there just wasn't enough for 8 people to do. At check-in we were told that we could have reserved the entire room at booking, but it’s hard to justify the additional cost given the many excellent area escape rooms that are private by default. If you’re flexible, you could try walking in without a reservation to see what might be available privately or with a...
Read moreMy son and I have done 4 out of the 6 rooms so far. They have all been amazing! Each room is unique and challenging but not too difficult. The tech is great so it’s more entertaining than the standard lock and key/ combination puzzles that other escape rooms offer. I will say the first time we went they informed us the room we were scheduled in had a broken puzzle and offered us another room and a gift card to come back once the room was fixed. The staff has been nothing but amazing each time we have gone. I will say that sometimes you are booked in a room with other people so watch out for the number of “available spots” when booking online but each time this has happened they informed us upon arrival and told us we could move our booking time if we would like. I highly recommend The Escape Game to anyone who’s looking for a fun night out. My son is almost 13 and he has just as much fun as me so this is a family friendly experience. I will be trying their other location once we do all...
