Had the pleasure of joining my sister and sister-in-law for brunch today, and they picked a winner—Burtons in Lynnfield! From the moment we walked in, the experience was top-notch. We were warmly greeted and seated at a beautiful, sunny table that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Our server, Allie, was absolutely fantastic—attentive, knowledgeable, and just a joy to be around. She offered some great recommendations (don’t miss the donuts and the short rib hash—both are absolute musts), and we were so glad we followed her lead. It’s clear she knows and loves the menu, and her enthusiasm was contagious!
The brunch offerings were impressive—everything from classic breakfast options to hearty lunch fare, plus a creative drink menu. Patrick crafted a mocktail that was as delicious as it was artfully presented (wish I could remember what it was called!). Choosing just one dish was the hardest part—I had at least six contenders—but Allie patiently helped us all narrow it down.
Huge kudos to the chefs and kitchen staff. You can really taste the quality and care—like the freshly grated potatoes in the hash and the bright pop of fresh herbs in my lobster salad. True scratch cooking, done right.
Shoutout to the owner and team at Burtons—you’ve built something really special here. This was my first brunch visit, but definitely not my last. I’ve always loved the bronzed salmon (still the best I’ve had anywhere), and now I’ve got a whole new reason to come back. Already planning to bring...
Read moreWent on Father’s day and I am extremely disappointed. First of all our waitress made us uncomfortable with weird comments. I understand wanting to check on a table but when there is no food in front of us, and only 2 people at the table on their phones and you come over and say “you guys happy? you all stress free?” It’s weird. Like what do you want me to say. And then you’re going to charge almost $50 for steak, why is bread not free? I originally wanted a filet mignon and they were out so I opted for a new york strip (medium) and then my fiance got a ribeye (rare). Mine came out extremely well done and his was closer to medium well. Our waitress then wanted to give his steak to me as a solution. If I originally wanted a filet, what makes you think I want a ribeye? And for some reason the ribeye didn’t even have the spinalis which is what makes it a ribeye. So we waited for new steaks and a manager came over to offer us some more bread or salad which was nice of him to do that. Got our new steaks and honestly they were really nothing special. Not for the price. Gave us more free desert and then it was time for the bill. Fast forward to today when my Father in Law saw the credit card statement for over $300 and he was confused. Turns out they added a 20% automatic gratuity on top of what we left. Only other positive note is the free key lime pie they gave us because that was actually good. Overall never...
Read moreI chose to go to Burton's for my birthday dinner tonight, and I now regret that decision. My friends and I were seated and everything was going okay, we put in our appetizers. We waited fifteen minutes without being checked in on or asked to put in any orders. Eventually, a new waitress came up to us saying our old waiter had left to go home (we saw him three times throughout the rest of our dinner.) I received my salad that was supposed to have steak cooked medium, it was cooked rare/ maybe medium rare. Mistakes happen, I asked the waitress politely if she could send it back and she tried to disagree with me and tell me it was cooked the way I said (it was not). She sent it back, and that ended up being okay. When she really started being rude was when it was time to pay. She was aggravated I had a $100, and when I was giving it to her, she ripped it out of my hands rudely, multiple people at the table saw her waving the change to another waitress, seemingly complaining about it. I've been to this Burton's a handful of times before and never had an experience like this! I'm so disappointed! As someone who works in food service, I completely understand being stressed. But the disrespect of the service tonight definitely...
